I walked pass this place so many times until last weekend when a friend brought me here. I wasn’t particularly hungry so I ordered Mini Masala Dosa. I was blown away by how delicious the dish was. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce and the potatoes inside the crepes. The owner is very friendly and talked to us. I will definitely come back here to try other things!

My first time here and I loved it. The medu vada were outstanding and my mint masal dosa was wonderful – light, crispy, flavourful. The people we were attended by were just lovely. I’m normally a staunch meat eater and even though there is a well thought-out selection of meat dishes, the vegetarian dishes really shine. I think I could have picked up anything off the menu and been completely satisfied – I’m looking forward to returning !

Fantastic South Indian food! A real delight to find such good cuisine in this small part of the world.
The owners are passionate about what they do and it shows in the food. My colleague and I visited multiple of times during our 10 day stay in Dunedin and it was consistently good everytime. The Masala Dosas are a winner, extra crispy, with layers of soft fluffy pastry and full of potato masala. Awesome textures all round.
The curries (we tried all the meat ones) were rich, full of flavour and well balanced. Same with the Biryani. I’ve had Indian food in many places around the world, including India, and the food here is a standout.
I highly recommend Dosa ect. for anyone visiting Dunedin and wish the owners all the best

It was our first time at Dosa Etc last night, we have ordered Masala Dosa and Kuthu Parata…both the dishes were delicious and flavourful. I would definitely visit again next time when I am back in dunedin. The service is too good

Came here with low expectations, but it turned out to be the best decision of the day! The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. He was even kind enough to allow outside food for my son, though in the end, my son loved the food here even more. Such a lovely experience – highly recommended!

I had their egg dosa and filter coffee, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! The egg dosa was one of the best I have ever had afther my visit to southern India. The batter was perfectly fermented, resulting in a crispy yet fluffy dosa with just the right texture. The egg was cooked to perfection, adding a deliciously rich flavor that complemented the dosa beautifully.
The filter coffee was equally impressive, authentic, aromatic, and served with that classic frothy finish. It brought back memories of my travel. The ambiance and service were great, making the meal even more enjoyable. Dosa Etc. has truly nailed the art of dosa making and filter coffee.

I can confidently say this is the best South Indian food I’ve had in New Zealand! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family.
The star of the show was, of course, the DOSA. It arrived perfectly crisp and golden, with a lovely light texture. The accompanying sambar was rich, fragrant, and packed with vegetables, and the chutneys (especially the coconut one!) were fresh and bursting with flavor. We also tried the fluffy, soft idlis and a flavorful vegetable curry – everything was authentic, delicious, and made with obvious care.
But what truly makes this place special are the owners. They are the kindest, most genuine people. They took the time to check on us, explain the dishes, and their warmth made the entire experience so much more than just a meal. You can feel their passion for sharing their culture and food.

We went to dosa place on the weekend. It was packed busy and we were thankful to get a table. Service was amazing. We ordered paneer 65 which was not 65 at all and also dosa didn’t had much filling also paneer was so dry felt it was old and than we got the chai which felt like was made yesterday but other than that it’s okay.
