I visited this new South Indian restaurant on King Street with a friend and was genuinely impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food. I ordered the South Indian thali, and it exceeded expectations in both taste and presentation. The dosa was crisp, fresh, and perfectly browned, easily one of the best I have had in the area. The variety of chutneys and sambar served alongside were flavorful and well-balanced, each complementing the dosa and other items on the plate.

The thali also included rice, vada, idli, sambar and butter milk that were rich in flavor without being overly oily or heavy. Every item tasted freshly prepared and true to traditional South Indian cooking. Portion sizes were generous, and the value for money was excellent.

The service was quick and attentive, and the ambience was clean and comfortable. Overall, this place is a strong addition to King Street’s food scene, and I would definitely return.

Used to love this place, but honestly, it’s going downhill lately.

Went there last Saturday — tried ordering rasam idli, not available. Asked for mutton starter , they siad its “seasonal.” Then aloo chaat — also not available. The host offered to make samosa chaat instead which was not our choice but had to agree.

This has been happening for the last few visits, and it’s super frustrating. Every time you go, half the menu isn’t available.

We still ordered a few things -idli vada combo, pav bhaji dosa, samosa chaat, and idiyappam stew. Food was mostly good (except the chaat, not great). But the wait time was so long even though the restaurant was empty.

And to top it off, the bill prices were $1–$2 higher than the menu! When I asked, the server said they updated prices but not the menu even the LED screens menu prices weren’t changed. Felt a bit like a trick, to be honest.

Seems like they’re cutting corners, removing items and quietly raising prices. Disappointing, especially for a place that used to be one of my favorites.

After trying Idyappam and Coconut Stew twice in a row (one dine-in and one ordered) which we loved, this time we wanted to try something else. So my wife ordered Chicken 007 as a starter and Hyderabadi Eggplant Curry as the main course with Garlic Naan. My wife was bitterly disappointed with the Chicken 007. It was not what she expected and honestly it felt a bit stale and chewy. The Hyderabadi Eggplant Curry was tasty, but someone who has tried this dish before knows that it is made with the small eggplants, with peanut and sesame flavors in it. This one had the thin long eggplants, and there was no peanut and no sesame in it. Again, it didn’t taste bad but it was not what was advertised in the name, so a bit disappointed. We’ll go back to the Idyappam and Coconut stew the next time.

Dosa were okay. We found a hair strand in the dosa but the staff was helpful they replaced it with new dosa. And I think there was a lot of chana daal in the dosa filling. I probably found 30 in my dosa and it was not very pleasant.

Such a fantastic spot! My husband and I have been here a few times already, and every single visit was perfect – both the food and the service. The Indian cuisine is absolutely delicious, and they even have a mild option for those who don’t like spicy food, which is a lovely touch. The vibe is great with modern Indian music playing, and the staff are always warm and smiling. The crowd is a nice mix of Europeans and Indians, which adds to the atmosphere. On top of the usual Indian café dishes, you’ll find some specialties like Dosa (Indian crepes), momos, different variations of spiced rice pudding, and of course, plenty of Indian sweets. Highly recommend!

We had the worst experience from a restaurant ever in Waterloo today . Dosa boys was our first choice in having food as we live close by . We had butter chicken from here but today was it very different . Today on 5th Jan 2026 , we had butter chicken from Dosa boys and felt something was wrong while we had few bites of the chicken . We enquired the server and cook about this and they gave as a perplexed look . We didn’t want to argue about this because the server was really nice to us . When we reached home , me and my wife started to vomit continuously and we realized that we have been food poisoned !!! This is terrible , never expected this kind of treatment from dosa boyz restaurant. Will never visit this restaurant again !!!

Food taste and quality was average. In South indian cousine, sambhar is most important part of the menu which was very poor quality. All food taste was also average. Staff and service is ok.
Chili idly and chilli paneer was tasteless and dried. Mysore masala dosa and uthapam and also paneer tikka and naan was good. Coconut chutney is below average. If sambhar quality is good then dosa are more enjoyable.

Although the dosa is tasty, there was no allergy warning at all.

I ordered the mysore masala, and as a non-Indian, I have never had this dish before, not knowing that there was peanuts.

The restaurant did not write that they had peanuts in this dish. Since I had a cold and no tastebuds, I kept eating the dish and couldn’t tell that it was peanuts until we called the waitress over to explain what the side dipping sauces were. When the waiter mentioned that it was peanuts, my friend tried it and confirmed it I’m allergic to peanuts and there is no indication on the menu at all.

Really enjoyed the potato filled dosa — never had this before and delighted by the crispy outside with soft tasty filling, all the sauces were rich in flavour yet accommodating to my request for mild heat. Special thanks to Shivani for the attentive friendly service
