Best Kolache Spot in San Marcos Hands Down!
Just wow… the dough here is absolutely heavenly so soft, pillowy, and perfectly baked. Honestly, I could eat it by the handful and happily weigh 300 pounds! Every bite is a delicious reminder of why this place is always packed.Tastes just like the kolache’s my grandmother used to make every Sunday for the family.
Everything is consistently fresh, mouthwateringly good, and made with clear attention to quality. From savory to sweet, the flavors are rich, comforting, and downright addictive.
The service? Impeccable. The girls behind the counter are always so friendly, cheerful, and full of positive energy. Their warm smiles and upbeat attitude genuinely brighten your morning the moment you walk through the door.
This place doesn’t just serve breakfast it delivers a full-on mood boost with every visit.
If I could give it 10 stars, I would.
An absolute gem of San Marcos.

I came in this morning and I know ya’ll were busy but to the woman I’m assuming is the owner dressed like a cat, who saw me and another man standing waiting, a simple acknowledgment would have been the polite and nice thing to do. Finally another woman acknowledged us after the line got longer. When cat woman finally did come up looking bothered, there was no sorry for the wait, just took my order. If my tone was sharp that’s bc I give back the attitude I am met with. Will low reviews hurt your business? No. But being nice to ppl makes the work day and the day in general more pleasant.

Kolache just like my mom and grandmothers made back in Nebraska. Friendly staff, great coffee too. The savory Texas kolache are delicious too.

Grew up in a heavily Czech influenced town. These take me back. Can’t tell you which was my favorite or my partners favorite because we ate 8 in the span of 10 minutes…

I won’t come back until they bring back. The chorizo kalachi. This is what I came almost every morning for. I would usually get a large cinnamon roll with them. They changed to a cheaper version of chorizo. That is in a hot dog form. Why take the best most popular item off your menu? When I came back in to return the kalachi’s wondering what had happened!? I was told they went with a cheaper version, and that they would not be bringing back the original. Devastating, bring back the real chorizo, don’t be cheap it’s already cheap enough and the people will come back.

Whenever I travel between San Antonio and Austin, I try to stop here for breakfast. These are the best Kolaches I have had and their espresso bar is on point as well! The service is sweet and courteous as well. I’m a non-passing transgender woman, and I have been treated respectfully every time I’ve been here. It feels like I’m actually welcome here which is a luxury in Texas whenever I’m outside a major city.

My favorite breakfast stop. I recommend the bacon+cheese+jalapeño for savory, and a fruit w/ cream for the sweet. (my fav is blueberry, raspberry, or strawberry, but all are good) The bread makes all the difference – VERY good. I prefer it over most of the famous places in Texas (Czech Stop, Hruska’s, Weikel’s, etc)… but those are great too.

Their cold brew from Katz is also great.

Went to this location later in the day, they still had a good selection of kolaches left. Managed to get a mixed box of savory/sweet, all were very good (neutral on the poppyseed). My favorite we’re the honey-nut cream cheese, pepperoni, and sauerkraut-sausage.

The young lady behind the counter was very sweet and informative, everything was boxed very neat.

Good prices, a good product, and good service.

I didn’t try the coffee**

Its difficult to review this location fairly because I absolutely love their food and coffee. However, they are always so full of customers it creates long wait times and nowhere to sit or stand. I avoid them whenever I’m in a rush or have no time to spare, but I’ll always stop by whenever I want a special treat for myself and I’m willing to wait. I heard they are opening a new location in New Braunfels, hopes it true and good for them!

The jalapeno sausage and cheese kolache was amazing. It was hot and the sausage had snap to it. The blueberry and strawberry kolaches were a waste tho. If you like bread with a smidge of flavor then these are for you. Just disappointed to have less than a tsp of topping on them.
