Thank you to Angela and team for creating such a magnificent cake for my father’s 90th birthday celebration. Not only was the cake stunning, but so delicious. The themed cookies came out perfect and were such a hit! Dortoni continues to be our go to for all our special occasions.

– On a good day, the rye bread always has a giant hole in the middle. It’s a problem with the proofing process that went on for months. We bought it anyway because there wasn’t another fresh rye in town.
-Ordered a cake for a family function and came in my dress, morning of the service to pick it up, and it was melted and dripping. Wrong food color was used for the text and then it was fridge stored too long and it dripped like syrup down the cake. They told me they couldn’t process a refund because no manager was in. I picked a display cake – not that I had another option by then. So I went back to process the refund- they charged me in full for the display cake I didn’t choose, didn’t want, and had to take in the wrong size because of their mistake and refunded the rest. Manager Angela was totally rude- avoiding eye contact and talking about the situation to her staff instead of addressing me- even though I was embarrassed and as understanding as possible about the problem.
– Yesterday 6pm picked up a loaf of bread. It was stale and hard when we got it home. I honestly think it was day old bread. Roll was stale as well. Maybe the baker was sick? We had cooked a big brisket and wanted sandwiches. The bread was no good- we put the food in the warmer and drove to St. Rocco’s. We had cooked the brisket for 8 hours, tender and delicious. The bread was going to ruin the meal. Anyway here’s the two breads- family devoured the whole St. Rocco’s bread. The Dortoni bread is going in the trash. Hard as a rock. The Rocco’s bread feels better today than the Dortoni bread yesterday.
They should have been like Seinfeld and called it quits when they were done making something good.

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Angela at Dortoni Bakery for our wedding cake, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Angela was attentive, kind, easygoing, and just so easy to connect with. From the very first meeting, she made the process feel fun and effortless — exactly what we needed in the middle of wedding planning.
Having grown up enjoying Italian pastries from Dortoni my whole life, getting our wedding cake from them was incredibly special to me — and Angela made it even more meaningful. We brought in a few inspiration photos and flavor ideas, and she took it from there — creating a massive, beautiful, custom cake that completely blew us (and our guests) away. She perfectly incorporated succulent accents and gave us the best of both worlds with cannoli cream and lemon custard fillings — a flavor combo that turned out to be a huge hit.
We genuinely wish there had been more left over. So many guests raved about the flavor — and one friend, who had never even had cannoli cake before, is already asking when they can have it again.

Poor customer service & over charges customers. I ordered 2 custom cakes last month. One 8 inch other one 10in – same flavors, same design (light purple rosettes with glitter) & happy birthday ON the board. The 8 in cake was 45$, the 10 in cake was $125. Almost 3x the price for 2 more inches (base cake is 65$ for that size). When I inquired as to why the larger cake is sooo much more the manager refused to call/speak with me. I called 3 times. Instead she just has the girls at the front relay the message that rosettes are 60$ – are you kidding? For buttercream. That’s almost the same price as the base cake for frosting which is a simple design. We have ordered & bought many cakes from them for every birthday – including our wedding cake- and this is the last time we will get anything from this bakery.
They didn’t even have the decency to call me back to discuss. The cake tastes fine – frosting is very sweet & a lot. Oh and the best part- the cakes looked nothing alike – one dark, one light, one without glitter, one w a plaque…. (The 3’s I added as it was for my babies 3rd bday).

When I walked in I was immediately struck by the strong smell of Fabuloso cleaner. I got a chocolate croissant that I’m sure would have been delicious if it didn’t have the added taste of Fabuloso. It took a lot of tooth brushing to get the horrific taste out. I leave this review only to encourage them to please use a less toxic, unscented cleaner from now on.

Service is outstanding I love the fresh baked breads their espresso is the best around. Their is always a place to park The foods are the best around They sell wedding cakes and everything in danish’s also banana breads. It is a very clean and has a very beautiful and pleasant atmosphere also their is a little bar if you would like to sit with a date. The prices for the breads are very reasonable This is a very high quality bakery with very professional services. It is located in a small outdoor mall area easy on easy off 25A highway they are a great addition to the East Norwich NY area.

I ordered a birthday cake for my wife. The cake was a disaster, heavy with no proportional filing. They charged $300 for a cake that maybe worth at the most $75-100. I don’t understand how they have survived with such high price for such poor quality. We will never use them again.

I had my cake made here for my wedding in September 23 and working with Ang was awesome! She was such a pleasure to work with and so sweet!! And the cake turned out perfect (super cute and delicious)! So many people came up to me and said how good it was (especially the chocolate ganache!) If you’re there definitely ask for Ang to help you, she’s the best!! The tasting worked perfectly – we got to take home a box with 5 frosting flavors and 3 cake flavors so it was great to be able to try some cake at home and relax while enjoying it!
