Came here with a buddy for a morning cup of joe. Walked in and wowed by the cookies & pastries on display.

Friendly & efficient service. Many dazzling items to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Dortoni’s is prominent for their prized wedding cakes. This success has allowed them to grow into 5 locations.

Perhaps this is also the reason for several lackluster reviews. They are too busy growing and having a difficult time keeping customers satisfied.

I did not get a chance to try their cakes but the cookies and pastry hit the Mark.

Once upon a time, Dortoni Bakery of Levittown was my go-to place for cakes whenever I didn’t have time to bake them myself. Over the years, I’ve made several purchases for various celebrations and even referred many customers. This year, my retired mother was adamant about ordering a cake for my birthday, which was last weekend. Together, we placed an order for Dortoni’s red velvet cake, trusting them to deliver the exceptional product we’d always received in the past.

Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. The cake we received was nothing like the vibrant, bright red velvet cakes we were accustomed to. The flavor was completely off—it did not taste like red velvet at all. Instead, it resembled a blend of carrot cake with a dull, unappealing dark red color.

When I returned to town, I contacted the bakery to express my disappointment. The manager, Rudy, asked me to bring in a slice of the cake, which I did. Without even tasting it, he insisted it was not carrot cake. My birthday evening had already been ruined after discovering this poorly made version of what should have been a classic red velvet cake. Rather than offering a full refund or full store credit, I was only offered $75 of the $150 spent—or the option to have another red velvet cake remade. I found it unreasonable to expect that I would trust them to remake the same cake after they mishandled the original order and admitted that this particular cake batter is not even made in-house but purchased from a third party. Customers choose Dortoni for authenticity, not outsourced products and poor quality.

Rudy said he would contact his leadership team to see what more could be done and promised to call me the following day. That call never came. After calling the bakery multiple times with no answer, I finally called from a different number—someone picked up but immediately placed me on hold and never returned. I was forced to waste additional gas and time visiting the bakery in person to follow up. I waited over an hour to speak with the manager, received no apology for the wait, and was met with dismissive, condescending remarks.

To avoid prolonging this ordeal or causing a scene, I reluctantly accepted the $75 store credit—though I told them I would likely give it away because this experience left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. I wasted gas driving to the bakery twice, and even had to cancel a session with a client to deal with this situation. This is a matter of principle and fairness. I do not believe I was compensated appropriately for the distress and inconvenience this has caused me. Dortoni Bakery has certainly lost a customer.

A cake from Dortoni’s in Levittown was included with our venue’s package. There is no upcharge for any of their standard cake selection no matter what size you need. We were able to do a cute cake tasting with them which was so fun and you get to try a good handful of their cakes and icings/fillings. At our tasting, They gave us a gift card for a free 1 year anniversary cake where they will recreate a smaller version of our wedding cake! We had a rather large wedding – almost 200 guests – and needed a 4 tier cake. We chose a vanilla cake with Italian Custard filling, cannoli filling, and vanilla buttercream frosting. They provide you with plenty of design options from their standard looks. We loved working with them! Our cake topper was from Etsy, and our florist decorated the cake with flowers which turned out to be absolutely stunning. Highly recommend Dortoni’s- a Long Island staple and absolutely delicious.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with this bakery deserves an honest warning to anyone planning an important event. I ordered a gender-reveal cake—a moment meant to be joyful and simple—and was given a cake with brown filling instead of the pink it was supposed to have.
The cake looked rushed & a full conversation was had about wanting a specific filling that was going to show the color rather than a filling that would make things look more mute & was told this was completely possible. while an apology & refund was given, I feel it’s necessary to issue a warning for something like this to anyone looking.
If you need a cake for a special occasion, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Accuracy, professionalism, and basic attention to detail were all missing here, and now more disappointed than I thought possible over something that should have been celebratory.

Too expensive for a cake that only has very sweet cream; to taste only cream, I would have been better off saving my money and making a bowl of whipped cream myself ‍♀️ They shouldn’t do that; if they charge a high price, they should make it so that you can say, “Wow, what a delicious cake!” This experience has only taught me not to go back.

The selection is abundant and inviting! Impossible to not want one of everything. The love the bakers have for what they do is shown in the artistry, and tasted in every bite!

This is my new go to bakery for everything. Their cakes, all of them, are amazing. The only negative thing is the kitchen staff. I ordered a birthday cake for my young teen. The girl was through and clearly captured what we wanted written. Got there the cake was blank. They said no problem they will write it now. Spelled her name wrong. Asked them to please correct. They said no problem. Then we heard the people in the back complaining. Then 2 staff personnel walked out from the back saying “who names their kid Candace” with eye rolling and sighs. We felt horrible. The lady assisting us noticed and said “that’s a beautiful name.” So other than that experience, they are great.

On Sunday, I went right before closing to purchase a fruit tart for my dad’s birthday. I noticed right away that the rectangular fruit tarts you used to sell are no longer available, and the ones that were there only had canned pineapple, raspberries, and kiwi. Since that was all that was offered, I asked the staff member to take one out for me—but as she did, fruit flies started flying around inside the case. Because of that, I decided to go with a tres leches cake with fruit on top instead.

When I got to my dad’s house, less than 15 minutes away, I opened the box and found milk pooling around the cake with a strange smell. Once we cut into it, the cake was mushy and falling apart. It was such a disappointment, especially since this bakery has always been my go-to for special occasions. The birthday cake—the centerpiece of our celebration—ended up being a complete disaster. I was very upset, and unfortunately, I don’t plan on returning after this experience.

I would give 0 stars but 1 is the least the site would allow. What a disappointment Dortoni Bakery has become. I used to get flan all the time from Dortoni Bakery. I just ordered 5 flans for my party. When I went to pick up my order, they came out with 5 uncovered plastic bowls filled with vanilla colored liquid.i was like you are kidding right? This does not look like flan. This is not even set and there are no covers. I had already paid for the order and they convinced me that it would gel once I put it in my fridge. They claimed that they put covers on the bowls, wrapped and boxed them up. I was foolish to trust them. When I got home, I found that they had just put a bowl on top with some tape and left the sides open. The liquid had mostly poured out and into the boxes. I poured what was left of the liquid into 2 of my small bowls and put them in my fridge. Of course they never geled. The manager would not get on the phone with me. Dortoni has become an expensive disappointment. The main baker and some staff opened Batter Up Bakery. Maybe they should get them back.

What a disappointment, I was there this morning I had purchased this cake for my granddaughters birthday and as she was cutting it the cake was falling into pieces and the cake was dry and way too much chocolate frosting. The cake was clearly many days old. Would have given 0 stars if I could. Will not be returning.
