Wonderful food! The chicken entree was incredible, cooked perfectly with good flavor and their pork sausage and cabbage pork roll were delicious. The noodles were a surprise hit amongst the table. The carbonara wasn’t very good but everything else was tasty. Service was good and our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu.

Just in town for a few days. Earlier in the day stopped into the Richland rum distillery in Brunswick. The distiller recommended Dorothy’s. I’m so grateful for the recommendation. The evening at Dorothy’s started with a rum flight and lively discussion of different rums, followed by a couple of tiki drinks. I haven’t been served by such knowledgeable and personable bar staff in years. My husband and I were smitten and that was before ordering a few small plates. My husband is a very good cook and it’s rare to eat out and have a meal better than home cooking. We both agreed that Dorothy’s hit that mark. Well done team. Thanks for a lovely evening.

We came for the rum selection on the recommendation of the distiller at Richland Rum in Brunswick. Hands down, the best food, drinks and service of any place we stopped at during our time in the area. I did a rum flight along with a personal presentation of the selections by the manager. Beyond that, we did a series of small plates that were bursting with flavor. Add in the attentive, friendly staff and you have found a true gem on St Simon. Cannot recommend enough!

Incredible atmosphere- loved my cocktail and everything we ate. Chelsea was the best server, she was so attentive and kind. Food was amazing! We loved the Udon noodles with pork, but you can’t go wrong.

Kudos to our chef, food was phenomenal… service was a litte off putting. Roasted oysters – OMG, beyond delish, juicy, buttery. Hubby’s fire roasted chicken also a hit, super favorful – cooked perfectly. Definitely gonna give it another shot. Cocktails 10/10.

Five stars across the board! My husband and I spent a week on the island and had to visit Dorothy’s a second time because the menu was delicious, the vibes were great, and the service was exceptional!
Across the two nights we had many of the menu items but our favorites were the hamachi, the tuna tartare, and the curry fish special. Both Leah & Janessa were behind the bar both nights and we couldn’t speak higher of them. Even during a crazy busy night – they were personable, attentive and educated us on the food and cocktail menu. Partnered with their bar back Sam – we always had our plates cleared, waters full and fresh silverware. I’d be remiss not to mention the cocktail we both couldn’t stop ordering – the El Mariachi. If you like Mezcal, you have to order this drink!
On our way out, we chatted with the host and a server wrapping up their shift and the way they spoke highly of the restaurant & were passionate about what they had to offer spoke highly of the management team and the culture they foster. This spot is truly a gem on St. Simon’s and we will be sure to come back on our next visit!

Dorothy’s Cocktail and Oyster Bar was the perfect setting for our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. Owner and Chef, Daniel Auffenberg, was incredibly accommodating and helpful, making everything easy from start to finish. The atmosphere was inviting, the food was delicious, and the cocktails lived up to their reputation. Dorothy’s waitstaff was cheerful, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly. Our guests had a wonderful time. We highly recommend Dorothy’s for any special occassion!

I gave them a 5 star rating with these 2 caveats. I made a reservation for 1 the day before at 6:15- 15 minutes after they open . I was seated at the worst seat in the restaurant- right next to the doors. I did enjoy the meal . I thought the prices for wine by the glass seemed a bit high. I am accustomed to California whites; so I may not have appreciated the French white. The food was excellent.

We have been frequenting this fine establishment for over a year now and the experience never disappoints. We have tried just about every entree and signature cocktail on their menu. The service is superb and the staff is friendly and professional. After spending a year dining at the best restaurants in London, England, we were pleasantly surprised to find a local restaurant to match that experience. Keep up the good work Dorothy’s!

Is Dorothy’s good? I will most likely never know! I am so disappointed in our experience there today! We were very excited to get to try the cocktail and oyster bar after seeing how great it looked online. We arrived on time for our two o’clock reservation, ready for some cocktails! Hostess was nice and let us pick where we sat as it was not super crowded. The inside is adorable and I immediately snapped pics to send my friends! I was so excited! We were seated and waited a bit for our waitress but she was closing out another table so we didn’t mind the wait. We ordered two different cocktails and the tuna tartare. My husband ordered the noodles and she informed us that they were out of them. No big deal, it happens but I do wish we would have been told when we sat down. The tuna came out within minutes and was delicious! After about 15 minutes though, we still didn’t have our drinks. I asked our waitress and she said they would be right out. About 5 minutes later, she returned and said they were out of the cucumber for my drink so asked if I wanted something different. She did not mention my husbands drink. I ordered something else and at this point we were almost done with the tuna and still did not have our drinks. Finally, our waitress asked another guy behind the bar to make our drinks and he did. Whew! Our waitress was nice and offered us oysters for our wait. I then asked the waitress if they were out of anything else so we’d know before ordering our lunch. She said no and we ordered. At this point, we had been there for 40 minutes and were just getting to have the first sip of our drinks. They were pretty and good but not worth the wait. Five minutes later, our waitress returned to tell us that they were out of the fish, which I had ordered. At this point all we could do was laugh! We decided today was not our day at Dorothy’s and asked for the check. Our waitress was apologetic and nice but I was shocked that a manager or anyone else did not come over to apologize. We frequent the island about 8 times a year and was really excited for a new spot in our rotation. Instead, we left incredibly disappointed and out $55 without even having lunch. Overall, we felt it was a total flop.
