This place is overall executed really well. It reminds me of a French bistro. The interior is charmin: great decor & ambiance. The tile floor is beautiful & the floor to ceiling windows allow tons of natural light. The noise is normal level. There are 3 seating areas: banquettes on the left as you walk in & seating along the window area & then outdoor covered umbrella seating, The display cases are awesome. They have a merchandise area with clothing, sauces, etc then a bay with cold prepared foods & drinks. Then the bakery items, pizzas, sandwich and pastries. There’s a separate area to the far right for coffee & espresso drinks. There are 2 middle tables for grocery items: chips, evoo, cookies, teas, coffee, espresso etc.
The menu selection is great. Lots of yummy bowls, salads, sandwiches to pick from. I ordered a toasted loaded bagel with garlic cc, salmon, tomato, capers. Bagel was toasted perfectly & delicious.
Only 2 things that are conspicuously absent:
They don’t announce your order # or your name of your order when it’s ready.
There is NO “ORDER HERE” & “PICKUP HERE” SIGNS for the counter. I had 3 different ppl ask me where to order.
Overall it’s a great solid little place to grab a delicious bite anytime!

Love this place! Ambience is great with a nice variety of food choices-breakfast, lunch, or dinner… Food was delicious and also healthy. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the service was quick! I had vegan lentil soup (soooo good) with multigrain toast + hummus. My friend had the Doro bowl and loved it. 100% percent coming back!

Loved the lighting and roomy seating with booths and tables. Staff provided great service in taking our orders and bringing food to our table. My friend and I really enjoyed our sandwiches and drinks. Really enjoyed the pistachio and Ferrero cakes as well. So glad to find this in Old Saybrook!

I absolutely love their lighthouse salad with crispy tofu. I think every time I’m in the area I get it. The pasta and veggies plus the chickpeas and feta are a great combo! I also tried their feta pinza and I liked it as well!

Doro quickly became my new favorite go-to place for lunch. The food is so fresh and simple but tastes so so good. The bakery items are not only pretty to look at but leave you feeling deeply satisfied. My only less than stellar experience comes from the baristas. Nothing is ever stirred and any syrups sit flatly on the bottom. Please consider paying more attention to this small but important detail. Overall 5/5!!

This place is incredible. The choc hazelnut croissant was unbelievably delicious and th filling was spilling out, although it is only in the middle of the croissant it is absolutely enough and some will drop out so you can dip the rest in it too. The prices are comparable to panera but this place is astronomically better its not even worth comparison. The tiramisu latta was also delicious and hat lots of cocoa powder on top they definitely are not cheap with how to make products and its worth every penny. The atmosphere is also really enjoyable especially on a sunday morning its a really nice coffeeshop vibe that takes away from the fact this is a chain. Highly recommend!

Delish salad and good portion size. Pumpkin latte was also very tasty! Great variety of pastry to choose from. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly wait staff. Bathrooms nice and clean too! Definitely coming back!
