Reviews
I went with a close friend who has been coming here since childhood, and you can feel how much this place means to people who’ve grown up with it. If you like fish — especially during Lent — this is a really affordable restaurant and bar with plenty of dining space to enjoy your preferred catch. Their fish and chips even come with malt vinegar on the side, exactly how they should. The broiled fish and fried shrimp I had were simple, satisfying, and delicious for what they are.
What stands out most is the service. Many of the people working here have clearly been part of the Dorido’s family for many years, which says a lot about the owners taking care of their team like family — and it shows in how warmly you’re treated. I had excellent table service, and young Victor, going on his fourth year, already carries a true maître d’ persona. I’ve dined all over the world in some exclusive places, and that level of thoughtful, personal service is rare. A bit more polish and he’ll be shining anywhere.
Dorido’s has been serving the community since 1966, building its reputation on fresh seafood, friendly faces, and a welcoming atmosphere. Over the decades, it’s grown from a neighborhood fish joint into a beloved casual dining spot known for tasty seafood, daily specials, and a full bar — all while keeping that local, unpretentious charm intact.
What made the meal taste even better was the great company, genuine friendliness, and the camaraderie you feel here. You don’t have to go up to Mt. Washington for great service and a memorable meal; Dorido’s makes you feel a little bit like you’re at home — and that’s exactly why I’ll be back.
The fish sandwich is good
Can i please make a suggestion
Toast the bun a crispy bun with the fried fish would be more crunchy
And it would stand out more for customers if the bun was toasted
Five of the six hot dinners we ordered were brought to the table cold. When the manager (or possibly an owner) came over and asked how everything was, I explained the situation. He offered to have the meals remade, but I simply told him that wasn’t necessary and that I just wanted to point out that the dinners had been served cold. His response—twice—was “What do you want me to do for you?” and the tone came across with noticeable attitude.
I do want to be clear that the waitresses were excellent and very attentive all evening. We have absolutely no complaints about their service. Our concern was strictly with how the situation was handled from a management standpoint.
We’ve supported this restaurant for many years and rarely write reviews, which is why this was disappointing. Mistakes happen anywhere, but how management responds to customers is what really matters. Hopefully this feedback is taken constructively so situations like this are handled better in the future.
