Beautiful inside and out — this is the kind of place that works for everything from a casual brunch to a fancy romantic dinner. Definitely a spot you can dress up for if you want to.

The space is huge, with plenty of indoor seating and a large, dog-friendly outdoor patio. Their squid ink pasta seems to be a favorite here, and I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. I also loved that they offer a nice variety of mocktails for non-alcoholic folks like me. And yes — everything here is super Instagrammable, which is always a bonus.

Overall, it’s one of those “can’t go wrong” spots in San Carlos — perfect for all-day meals or even just as a meeting place. I’ll be back for late afternoon small bites next time I’m in the area.

Perfect for: anything from brunch with friends to a romantic date night — versatile, stylish, and welcoming.

We had a great dinner at Doppio Zero in San Carlos. The ambience is warm and lively, and the service was excellent — prompt, courteous, and very attentive. We started with the burrata appetizer, which was fresh and flavorful. For mains, we tried the pizza, octopus, lamb chops, and fettuccine. Everything was well-prepared and delicious; the lamb could’ve used a bit more flavor, but overall the meal was excellent. A solid spot for a relaxed yet upscale dinner — we’ll definitely be back!

We had dinner at Doppio Zero, ordering the pasta with short rib and a classic Doppio Zero pizza.

A solid choice for reliable Italian food. Portions were satisfying, and the pricing felt reasonable for the flavor and experience.

We are longtime bar regulars at Doppio, which makes this experience particularly disappointing.

Our fries were served without truffle. Instead of preparing a fresh order, the same fries were taken back, re-seasoned, and returned to us. That is not an acceptable service standard. A new order was eventually provided, but only after we addressed the issue.

More concerning was how management handled the situation. Rather than acknowledging the lapse, the response reframed the interaction in a way that positioned us as the aggressors for raising a legitimate concern. The language used during the interaction was not personal or inappropriate — it addressed the handling of the dish. This was not a “miscommunication,” but a basic hospitality misstep.

Several patrons at the bar noticed what occurred and commented that it should have been handled differently. This was a visible service failure, not an escalation on our part.

We have consistently supported Doppio and expect professionalism and accountability in return. Being made to feel at fault for addressing a service issue is not the standard we are accustomed to.

We hope the restaurant returns to the level of hospitality that made us regulars.

So grateful for plant-based options! They have a vegan pizza, vegan ravioli, and for starters we had grilled artichoke with balsamic reduction!

The happy hour thingy was on every table but our server was trying to tell that it’s not on Sundays even though it was written on the thingy on the table, and then that it’s only for certain tables, but why the thingy was on every table then, weird.

Otherwise, it’s a cute a cozy spot, pizza was great and they have spicy sauce/oil available upon request. Ravioli’s filling was so-so but the artichoke was delicious.

Went in after the Super Bowl. Pizza was pretty good, and thats saying something being an East Coast Pizza Snob! lol. French Fries were great. Thin and crispy if you like them thst way.

Service was a little lacking. Seemed like it was our waitress’ first day. They said last seating was 9:30 pm but at that time they told us we can’t order anything. After minor complaints they allowed two late people in our party to order a drink. Just should be a little more customer focused, especially on a special event kind of weekend.

Inside is nice. Easily found street parking but the town was dead. Not sure how it would be on a busy night.

We visited Doppio Zero in San Carlos with a few colleagues after work and had a great experience overall. I ordered a pizza and a salad, and both were very tasty and well prepared. The quality of the food was definitely a highlight.
The atmosphere was lively, though it was a bit noisy at times, which made conversation slightly difficult. Still, the friendly vibe and excellent food made up for it.
Overall, a very good place for casual dining with coworkers.

Nice Italian restaurant. It has a beautiful dining area, and nice full bar. Depending on the time of day it can be pleasing and quiet, or busy and noisy. When it is busy the service can lag and you’ll be sitting there for awhile. With that said the waiters are nice, and the servers seem like they want to be somewhere else, meaning they are not really engaging. The food is okay, but can be improved. The Lasagna is my go to, and when special menu permits, the lobster ravioli is a succulent treat. All in all it’s an okay place to take a date to or even a business meeting.
