“A Soul Food Gem Worth Every Bite!”
My wife and I recently visited Dootsie’s Kitchen and left thoroughly impressed. The dining area was bright, clean, and welcoming — exactly the kind of atmosphere you hope for when sitting down for a good soul food meal.
We came in hoping for Whiting, but they were serving Basa instead. The staff assured us that many customers actually prefer it, and after our first bite, we understood why — it was absolutely delicious! My wife enjoyed the fish dinner while I went with the fish and grits, and both dishes were outstanding. The portions were generous, to say the least.
The food was so good that I couldn’t leave without ordering extra fish to take home. That says it all! If you’re looking for great soul food with a warm atmosphere and hearty portions, Dootsie’s Kitchen delivers. We’ll definitely be back!

First time visiting Dootsie’s Kitchen today and it’s our new favorite place! Staff is super friendly and food is EXCELLENT!! Everything was piping hot; fish and chicken were tender and tasty ! Perfect pick if you want delicious, fresh home cooking.

First time trying this place and I am in love. These are honestly the best wings I’ve ever had in my entire life. I got a secret menu flavor called spicy peach and I couldn’t stop eating it, it was just so good. My wife got fried chicken & Mac n cheese, also amazing. You haven’t lived til you tried this place!!

The food was SO good! And fresh! Everything is cooked to order and it stayed hot all the way back to my work. The collard greens and cabbage were the star for me, I’ve never had anything like it. The chicken was flavorful and MOIST. I also grabbed an Oreo dessert cup and it was heavenly. The whole office wanted to fight me because I didn’t tell them I was ordering from here for lunch anyways…expect a big lunch order from the office tomorrow!

The food and hospitality was exceptional. The owner opened his doors to my friend so that we could gather after a celebration of life service and burial. We were truly grateful for the flexibility and good spirit he gave tp us. The food was great. I chose the Basa platter. It was my first time and sure won’t be the last. Didn’t want you to see my empty plate…lol

My sister and I stopped in for lunch and it was the best meal I’ve had out. Homemade and the flavors are amazing. Highly recommend the honey old bay fried chicken and pulled bbq chicken with Cole slaw and French fries

Literally just left the parking lot, but we loved our meals. Got 12 wings, half with their spicy peach, and half with Cajun buffalo. We had the whiting platter with collard greens & potato salad, and a pulled pork sandwich. All of it was so good. We have leftovers and it’ll definitely be somewhere that we stop when we’re back in the area! If you haven’t been, you should go or order takeout.

My partner and I had dinner here tonight and it was absolutely delicious. The owner is really friendly and I felt super comfortable. I got the BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwich and my partner got BBQ Chicken Special. Everything we had was insanely tasty and we will be coming back!! ❤️

I am in love…… the service is stellar and the food phenomenal. Jeff work extremely hard to make sure we were satisfied with our meal.. He was being modest when he described the mac n cheese….We had yams mac n cheese and fried chicken and beef brisket and mac n cheese…everything was hot and fresh most importantlymade with love..I will be back
