I’m so excited that Door Prize is back and better than ever! Love that the menu has options for vegans and other special diets, but is varied and appealing to all kinds of eaters. Fun drinks and a cozy, welcoming space are the cherry on top. Don’t miss the pirogies and the fried chicken (or cauliflower) sandwich, although you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

The perfect restaurant does exist! Excellent blend of warm comfy Eastern European food and chill atmosphere! I was impressed by the harmonious flavors with a few unexpected surprises. Just few minutes walk from Mass MoCa. John Prine fans will get this one.

This restaurant is an incredible gem, the owners are so kind and interesting, we felt right at home. We’ve traveled all over and have had our share of good cocktails but the drinks here were out of this world. The food too was amazing. I ordered the pickled veggie platter and it was delicious and one of the chefs specialties. The cookies and ice cream were also great. This is a world class restaurant in a most unassuming place! Would come back here any time.

Very good dinner menu with diverse options (including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free), would like to come back and try more. They also serve breakfast.

Dinner at Door Prize was the perfect conclusion to a lovely day spent roaming Mass MoCA.
The homemade pierogies filled the gaping void left by our attempted lunch earlier that day as well as the disappointing dinner experience elsewhere the evening prior.
We had both potato and brisket (special) pierogies, fried brussels sprouts, chickpea stew and lentil sausage soup with grilled sour dough. The pierogies stole the show, until we ordered dessert… warm salted chocolate chip cookies and a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream.
My manhattan was expert and the wine list was diverse yet concise and very fairly priced.
We were fortunate to wander in on a night a patron was celebrating their birthday, which only painted a clearer picture of just how special that little restaurant is.
From staff to patrons, everyone was warm and respectful. We savored a lovely evening and look forward to trying the khachapuri, along with the rest of the menu, on our next visit to North Adams.
Thank you for nourishing our bellies and souls, Door Prize!

A gem in North Adam’s, MA. We stayed at the Hotel Downstreet and decided to try this restaurant, which is attached. We were served by the owner, Jenny, who had the BEST tips on everything North Adams, and the kindest and most energetic person. We both had the French Onion egg sandwich and 10-star potatoes. They were making expert fancy coffees and we both enjoyed. We can’t wait to come back! They show movies on Sundays and have a band play in the evening at times for dinner. What a find!

I had the most unexpected amazing breakfast with the best service in a comfortable, cozy atmosphere! The French Onion Egg Breakfast Sandwich and the breakfast potatoes were incredible along with a hand made Cortano coffee drink that was spectacular. They serve dinner as well which I can’t wait to try the next time I’m in North Adams. Run, don’t walk to your next favorite restaurant in the Berkshire’s…you won’t be disappointed.

We stayed at the adjoining hotel (Downstreet Hotel) and met the owner our first morning there as we went in for breakfast and they were slammed, youth hockey tournament in town. Communication was on point and the owner kept apologizing even though it was clear she was working hard and efficiently
After hearing the noise level and seeing how busy they were, we opted to get take out. Breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and crunchy without being overcooked or dry. I HIGHLY recommend the maple lemonade… So refreshing and a nice balance of flavors.
The menu is interesting and offers a nice variety. The chocolate chip cookies are… DELICIOUS and that’s coming from me, someone who has owned a bakery and still does catering.
The bartender was amazing when we went back Saturday night for a nightcap. We had went to dinner someplace else and after less than stellar service there, we decided to have a glass of wine to end the night at Door Prize. They were closing a bit early as it was slow and they’d had a crazy weekend, still the owner recognized us and told the bartender we were good to order a drink. The wine… Nice variety of both nicer wines and wines that you could order everyday. I went for a glass of the Cabarnet Sauvignon from a smaller winery I recognized from California, it was so good and I was excited to see it being offered by the glass
Unfortunately for me I had a small seizure like episode as we were wrapping up and the bartender was SO KIND and concerned. She didn’t make me feel any worse than I did, brief loss of consciousness and some confusion… Thankfully I was with a friend and together they made sure I was ok to make it back to my room. I explained it happens sometimes after a car accident I was involved in but I appreciated the care and concern, when I was super nauseous she didn’t just try to throw me out but offered a garbage can. Lol maybe she just didn’t want to clean vomit but I think it was more than that
The staff alone make this place great but the quality of the food … Yes! Can’t wait to go back and try the khachapuri.

In town to visit cousins and aunt, and MassMoCa, of course. What a find! Right inside the hotel property! Horribly cold outside last weekend, so it could have been any place that served hot food and we would have gone to avoid bundling up again, but this place is worth bundling up to drive/walk to. Don’t miss out on the picked celery, cauliflower, and beets! We returned the next night for more of all they have to offer, plus the delightful acoustic singer-guitar players. Go for the food, but return to visit your new friends. Wonderful staff, accomplished chef, exciting cocktails, fair pricing, and lovely dining environment, too. This should be your next stop after whatever in North Adams. Across the street from MassMoCa, which is always amazing.

Door Prize was a staple for our wedding weekend in October, serving as our After Party location and our Farewell Brunch. We cannot recommend them enough! Jenny was absolutely fantastic to work with. She listened to what we wanted, delivered on all of our requests, and is generally just such a pleasant and kind person. Their pierogies were the perfect post-wedding snack, and the location was so convenient for our many guests who were staying at Hotel Downstreet. Brunch was also delicious and well-organized. Jenny and her team cranked out so many scrambled eggs and bacon for our many guests and kept the coffee flowing. Overall they were a dream to work with, and I’m so happy they were part of our wedding weekend! Would recommend Door Prize 100 times over.
