Finally had time to try what Donutchew had to offer…I selected 2 donuts including a chocolate donut and an cream cheese Oreo donut and I also had a Strawberry macaroon… All of those were delicious. The donuts had a nice texture and outstanding flavor. The strawberry macaron was so good it was unbelievable…
The staff and manager were very nice. Apparently every donut macaroon are made in-house… That is very unique nowadays… It makes it worth the higher price for each donut..

This is my first time visiting Donutchew. I was drawn to it being that I’m a donut fiend. I’ve had freshly made, delicious mochi donuts before, so this definitely didn’t compare. However, I love the decoration, the customer service and the extensive menu, which is the reason for the 4 stars.
I originally stopped by to eye the menu and plan my post-lunch coffee-time dessert. I let the barista know that I’ll be returning but will order something simple. She suggested the cortado and I said yes immediately, and asked for iced. It was perfectly strong and not watered down. Fast forward a few hours, I returned as promised and she remembered me.
We decided to order 2 mochi donuts and a few drinks:
-chocolate and cinnamon/sugar donuts
-red velvet latte
-hazelnut latte
-regular latte
One thing to note is that she couldn’t really describe the drinks. For example, I asked her if the red velvet latte tastes like chocolate or just sugary (since it’s basically red-dyed chocolate) and she had no idea. I asked her what are the top drinks (besides what was shown on the board) and she couldn’t answer that. But she was friendly.
The donuts tasted a little stale and the chocolate frosting was definitely a little too hard. The cinnamon toast crunch was a cute touch to the donut, but again was stale. I wasn’t a fan of the red velvet latte, it was pure sugar and aside from the intense pink color didn’t taste the way I expected a red velvet cake to taste (most likely because the cream cheese is important to the flavor).
The decoration and swag for purchase are all show-stoppers, perfect for photo ops or even social media. They have a cute little photo booth inside as well. There is plenty of seating available.
I can’t say that I’d return as I’m not a big mall person and wasn’t too terribly impressed with the donuts.

This place is adorned with plush toys and colorful, cute items, making it a delightful spot to hang out, but not for everyone. The donuts here are unique, made with rice flour, resulting in a chewier texture. Furthermore, they have other colorful desserts, such as macarons and cakes, and these Asian-inspired desserts offer a range of uncommon flavors. The service is also commendable.

Such a cool place! Fun and colorful atmosphere! There was even a Photo Booth! Service was good. We had 2 macarons- crème brûlée and tiramisu. They both were out of this world! I also tried the earl grey tea donut and it was so flavorful! It is a bit pricey but the flavors were definitely worth it!

I was craving donuts and my favorite go-to spot was already closed. Noticed there was a new donut shop that recently opened and decided to give it a try. The donut shop is located inside the Fair Oaks Mall (pretty hidden deep in a corner near H&M).
Entered the store and was warmly greeted by the staff. Took a few minutes to look over the menu and decided to try 3 different types of donuts. They are shaped like flowers and look much different than your average donut – so I was curious to see what it tasted like. They also have a variety of different drinks and since I love Thai tea, I had to try that as well.
I was excited to try the donuts right away so my son and I sat down at a table nearby outside of the shop. The taste was unique and very different, and the texture was not what I expected. It was very gummy and chewy – and the glaze was not that good. We took a couple bites, but ultimately we ended up throwing away the rest. The drink on the other hand was delicious and I would definitely go back to try other flavors.
The ladies/employees were nice and friendly which is the only reason for the 3 stars, but unfortunately the donuts were not (in my opinion). I find you’ll either love it or hate it and for me personally it was the latter.

Visited early February. Never been before. Tried the bubble teas and it was just alright. The donuts were fantastic though. Couldn’t tell difference between these and Mochinut. Mochi donuts are just nice and chewy. Would definitely go again. Just beware going later in day as they do run out of flavors.

If you like Mochi donuts, then the donuts are not bad. They don’t quite taste like regular donuts as it’s a mix of rice crispy and donuts which gives a weird taste. I personally didn’t like it. Ambiance is very nice. Service is also good at this location.

The interior of Donutchew is so cute! The donuts were really chewy and in a fun design where you can share with multiple friends. What I really enjoyed about the donuts was that it wasn’t so sweet. The drinks were also good. The interior felt cozy and has a little photo booth you can take with your friends!

It was a great experience for people who are wanting to try mochi donuts I got strawberry milk ,earl gray, churro ,mango, fruity pebble and red velvet donuts and even though they’re cold and would be better warmed up the donuts were sweet fluffy and airy I can understand why not everyone would like these donuts since they are very different than regular donuts that you get here but it was a great experience and I also got the passion fruit tea with Boba and the boba were soft and chewy and the passion fruit tea really tasted like it was made from real passion fruit right then and there the place was super clean and the photo booth was a nice touch. The only problem for me was that some of the reviews have donuts that we’re not on the menu this time around so I’m assuming they change their donut menu every so often so make sure to go try it before they change the menu again!

Lots of mochi donuts popping up in NoVA! I first had these in hawaii too so was very eager to try them again. The shop is in fair oaks mall, so very convenient to visit while shopping. There are tons of flavors to choose from, but not every flavor is available every day as they rotate it out. They also have bubble tea and other drink options.
The mochi donuts I got were overall delicious! A few too sweet but a few just right as well. Texture is great. I also tried the Taro bubble tea and wasn’t the biggest fan. Could’ve just been me, I normally don’t get taro so should stick to my regular.
