An 18th-century mansion serving high-end fare in several posh dining rooms, plus a more casual pub.

I don’t know what happened to this place. It used to be really good. Last night though, my husband and I waited 30 minutes for our drinks and then another hour for our cold meals. The “C.A.B.” NY strip he ordered was definitely NOT C.A.B! And my “6oz” lobster tail was maybe 2 oz. I attached a picture and that was taken before a single bite was taken. That was the whole meal they were charging $40 for. The mashed potatoes they slopped under it were slimy and tasted leftover/ microwaved. I complained about the size of tail and they brought me an additional 2 oz tail that was overcooked and tasted reheated. It was dry, rubbery, and even crispy on the sides. It seemed like it had been sitting around in a warmer for a long time. This was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve ever had in a restaurant and I’m still so angry about the wasted money.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here the other night, and everything was absolutely perfect. We were seated in a cozy, tucked-away spot overlooking the dining room which was quiet, intimate, and peaceful. The ideal setting for a special evening.
Our waitress was outstanding – attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed with everything. The food was exceptional from start to finish. We started with the Brussels sprouts, which were incredible. They were perfectly cooked with pine nuts, bacon, and a touch of maple syrup. It’s easy to get Brussels sprouts wrong, but these were phenomenal!
For our main course, we had the filet mignon and the New York strip steak, both cooked to perfection. The vegetables and potatoes complemented the steaks beautifully, and we left feeling full and satisfied.
To top off the evening, the staff surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate our 4th anniversary, which was a delicious slice of cheesecake that was the perfect finishing touch. Their thoughtfulness really made our night special.
Despite the restaurant serving several large parties that evening, service was smooth and timely. Our waitress checked in often without being intrusive. The wine list is also excellent, they offer some fantastic Cabernet Sauvignons that pair perfectly with a steak dinner.
Overall, we had a truly wonderful experience and would highly recommend this restaurant for an elegant dinner or any special occasion. It’s not only a beautiful dining experience, but the place also has some fascinating history worth reading about!

The filet mignon was to die for tender as could be and cooked to perfection! The French onion soup was delicious.
The mashed potatoes were a little cold and hard, but that is the only thing I can find a complain about.
If you go between lunch and 5:00 dinner you will have to go downstairs to the pub to eat.

Tracy, the General Manager, helped me with my gift card totals and when I found out it was quite a nice chunk of spending money, she joined my joy! Treated my friends to an amazing meal, great service by Grace and fantastic Lemon Drop Martinis! Tracy even stopped by our table to check on us during our meal. Great atmosphere and crew. We ate in the Pub area and it was comfy, casual and highly recommend you check it out ❤️

Have always had great dinners at The Pub downstairs and the main restaurant upstairs. Went to the pub for dinner on a Thursday. Great atmosphere as usual, and bonus – a guy playing tunes on a guitar (really good). My wife’s sandwich – really good. My split pea soup – good. My brisket sandwich special – yikes. Really thick slices, some a little tougher (was expecting it to be cut thinner and pull apart easily) , but it had a huge slice of tough solid gristle/fat on each side of the sandwich that couldn’t be chewed and had to be pulled out and discarded whole (like 2″x3″ each). I would have expected that would have been cut off while the food was prepped. I mentioned it and pointed them out when the table was cleared but didn’t make a big deal of it (not my style). A free dessert or coffee, and I’d have been willing to call it good, but evidently our server didn’t pick up on it (her service otherwise was friendly and good). The sandwich definitely wasn’t up to the standards I’d come to expect from The Pomeroy House, and kind of put a damper on an otherwise good experience.

Husband and I went to The Pub on 2/13 before the crowd came. Onion soup and stuffed mushrooms were good. NY strip was good. The asiago rice and asparagus were also good. But the potatoes were overdone and slightly burnt. The main issue was the Scallops. Terrible. If Golden Corral offered scallops, they would have been better. The scallops were tiny and breaded like a tater tot. If you took your fork and tried to cut it in half, the scallops pressed down and squished. It seemed like they were frozen and then deep fried. They were small too. They were not pan seared. They were supposed to be pan seared according to the menu. We were unable to send it back to the kitchen because the server said the kitchen was swamped. I was given a piece of cheesecake as compensation. For a $45.00 dinner which featured the scallops, it was a failure. How can I recommend this restaurant to anyone? If you want me back, I need to be compensated.

We celebrated my mom and dad’s 50th wedding anniversary. Our server, Autumn, was excellent and the food was delicious.

This is my second time here in the last couple of years, and my first experience around this time of year (~6 days before Christmas) was great, but this year left a lot to be desired, especially when you pay this much. Upon arriving on time for our reservation we waited an additional 20 minutes for a table as they were short on staff to bus tables, and then upon being seated we were immediately informed that the kitchen was short-staffed and that we might be delayed. The servers were attentive but noticeably were being rushed due to a short staff. All food items we ordered were lukewarm (lobster tail, steak), the bread came out during our meal because they didn’t have any bread ready for when we sat down, and the order of calamari we got was completely different than what was advertised on the menu (menu was more traditionally styled, this order came with a sweet Thai sauce (likely a rollover from the lunch menu)). I think we’ll pick a different place next year for the holidays. Could be just a bad night but not a great experience when you pay $250+

This was my first visit to the establishment a few days ago. For the most part the food was very good, only exception was the cheese cake. It was not good at all. My mixed drink was way too strong and didn’t taste like what I ordered. Beautiful atmosphere and perfect to talk to each other in. Waitress was attentive but overly so. Altho the food was very good for the most part, I feel the prices were very high for what we had. The biggest con was all the stairs! Yikes, 4 flights to get to the restaurant! 2 flights to get to the pub!
Would not suggest heels as I did, very scary!
Parking is in back and building is up a bit of a hill. All in all we both had a nice time. Lighting was dimmed which was a nice touch.
I would recommend at least once!
Dress is dressy casual to dressed up.
