Join us for southern home-style cooking and hospitality! We’re a local family-owned and operated full-service restaurant with an extensive menu, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Located on the corner from the historic courthouse in downtown Madisonville. We’re a regular for locals and for those passing thru who’ve been tipped to dine here. We drove from Gatlinburg, TN to see for ourselves how great Donna’s is. Definitely not disappointed. It felt like home when we walked through the door. From the staff, to the food and atmosphere, it was all amazing! A lot of family recipes used for the buffet. Locally sourced fruit and veggies. To the crew at Donna’s, we’ll be back! The atmosphere was not that of a restaurant but of a family gathering, as if I had opened the door to family. Great people, smiles everywhere, children talking, I didn’t even see a cell phone out, I am sure they were there. The food was amazing, but we missed the breakfast bar by 10 minutes. I told the waitress I was looking forward to it. They had moved breakfast to a cart and started the lunch/dinner buffet bar. They said, “For ahead, we don’t like to throw food away.” You know it, I chowed down. For breakfast, voodoo is good. Thank you, we will be back, love the town, love Donna’s Cafe. I bragged at work the whole week.

You’d think the pickin’s were slim until you taste.
A little bit goes a long way up here in the Southern Highlands. Try the Corn Bread salad & sliced beets on the salad bar side. The Cole slaw is sweet; just like Mamaw always made it.
The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. There was delicious fried fish with hush puppies. Pinto beans and corn muffins with a pleathora of southern veggies including Fried Green Tomatoes.
Donna’s runnin’ Appalachian Strong up here in these Southern Highlands. Y’all come if you can and don’t dare pass up that corn bread salad

Wife and i have been there together once but i scouted it out ahead a few days before LOL. I can’t say enough good stuff about this place. We are country folks and the food and service we got there was spot on for folks like us. I believe any age group will love the chow and the atmosphere at Donna’s. We will certainly make the 62 mile trip over and over for a great meal like this!

On January 1st, 2026, we ended the Frosty Dragon Motorcycle Ride at Donna’s Old Time Cafe for lunch.
We had 30 people in our group. To accommodate, Melissa arranged for us to have our food upstairs.
The food was delicious and the servers gave us outstanding service!

I was out on a nice motorcycle ride and stumbled upon this gem in Madisonville!
Nothin’ but down-home goodness at Donna’s! The staff is welcoming and my server Hunter was top notch!
The fried chicken is maybe the best I’ve ever had. The blueberry cooler was divine. You definitely won’t leave hungry

The staff at this cafe were so accommodative to our dietary restrictions.
The chef personally took our custom vegetarian order for a sandwich and prepared it really delicious.
A customized vegetarian sandwich with a side of fried potato slices and onion rings is a great breakfast option.

We stopped here on our way home from Pigeon Forge and I highly recommend it. All of the food was well-seasoned and delicious.
I had to try a little bit of everything. My personal favorite was the fried green tomatoes; honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The fried catfish and chicken were also excellent, and even the salad bar was great quality.
If buffets aren’t your thing, they also have a regular menu you can order from, but let’s be honest, you’re going to want the buffet.
