The cutest little spot. Seems to be popular amongst locals, very warm and friendly service and delicious food! Steve was very helpful and friendly! Definitely be back when in Houston.

I was there with visiting family for lunch. There was no wait to seat six of us. Excellent horchata and enchiladas mole. Lots of cheese on the enchiladas. Way better than Ninfa’s currently. Doña Maria’s uses the heritage recipes. I wish I lived closer.

Food was good. Not enough to make me want to go back. Great value for the money. Chips and salsa are very good. Oddly enough the hamburgers and French fries are terrific.

First timer and will be coming back. The waitresses and owners were so nice and welcoming. We started off with chips and salsa and their salsa is fresh and spicy and chips are all fresh, so just perfect beginning. My mans got the papa and egg plate and I got these tacos: papa chorizo and egg mixed, bean and cheese, barbacoa and bacon and egg with a strip (I like a variety in case there is a chance I don’t like a taco) however that was not the case here! I loved every single taco. Their tortillas are fluffy and the food was so yummy. I was smiling the whole time. With the tip we spent $40 (So $34 before) not bad at all honestly. Glad this is in the 2nd ward and close by.

Just before Christmas, I met some former coworkers for breakfast at Dona Maria’s! A few weeks previously, when things were winding down from our steak dinner gathering, it was suggested we meet for breakfast here! Just 3 of us this time but the company was still great! Migas & barbacoa were ordered & I chose my standard, pork chops! My friends enjoyed their selection but I was disappointed! My chops were overcooked, dark, looking blackened! I only ate half, it was tough to cut & hard to chew! I thought they had a new cook! Didn’t complain to management, which normally I would have! Three friends gathering to refresh our lives, reminiscing about stories of our youth & where we are now! I’ll be back, but won’t have my standard breakfast there anymore! I like porkchops but not tough as leather!

I just hit up Donna Maria’s Cafe in Eado, Houston, what a gem. Their breakfast tacos are absolutely delicious, packed with flavor in every bite. Staff couldn’t be friendlier—super nice folks who make you feel right at home. Plus, it’s so easy to find, right off the main strip. Hands down, five stars—go treat yourself.

I left feeling thoroughly let down by the dining experience. Opting for the huevos rancheros, I was met with disappointment as the ranchero sauce turned out to be nothing more than a lackluster concoction of crushed tomatoes. The accompanying potatoes were simply deep-fried slices akin to generic French fries, lacking any discernible flavor profile. What’s more, the prices did not align with the underwhelming quality of the dishes; I ended up paying a sum comparable to a chain restaurant but without the flavorful appeal. The absence of even basic seasoning like salt was glaring. I can’t help but wonder if this decline in quality is attributed to the gentrification of the East End. Unlike establishments such as Ninfas and El Tiempo, which have managed to preserve the authenticity of their original recipes, this restaurant fell short of expectations. It’s a shame, as I had hoped to stumble upon a hidden culinary gem.

Taste like someones mom made you breakfast after spending the night . We tried the Gordos tacos the chorizo has great flavor. The salsa has a little kick but not super hot.

We loved everything about this restaurant. The staff is friendly, the breakfast food is great and the music is a pleasure to hear. The salsa comes out warm and the chips are light. Love it. We highly recommend this restaurant.
