I recently visited Don Vito Pizzeria on a Friday night with mixed feelings about the experience. While there were aspects that stood out, there were also some areas that left me wanting more.
One of the major setbacks of the visit was the waiting time. Despite being aware that Friday nights tend to be busier, waiting for an hour and twenty minutes for our order was a bit excessive. This extended waiting time did take away from the overall enjoyment of the evening.
As for the pizza itself, I must admit that my expectations weren’t completely met. Priced at 17€, I was hoping for an extraordinary culinary experience. However, the pizza turned out to be quite ordinary and didn’t justify the price tag. Moreover, the overload of random toppings in the middle of the pizza resulted in a soggy center, which was a letdown.
On a positive note, the crust of the pizza was delightful. It had the right balance of crispiness and chewiness, giving it a satisfying texture that complemented the flavors. The crust was undoubtedly the highlight of the meal.
Moving on to the beverages, unfortunately, the cola served was not cold enough. This might seem like a small detail, but when enjoying a meal, the temperature of the drinks does matter.
To end the evening on a sweeter note, I decided to try the Panna Cotta dessert. And I must say, it was the saving grace of the dining experience. The Panna Cotta was remarkably flavorful, with a perfect texture and a delightful blend of sweetness and creaminess.
In conclusion, the ppace has its pros and cons. While the waiting time was extensive and the pizza didn’t quite meet expectations, the exceptional crust and the scrumptious Panna Cotta dessert did leave a positive impression. One of my favourite pizza places and I’ve had a LOT of pizzas. The crust is thin, crispy and not burnt. They have high quality ingredients and not just your basic options. I would drive back to Lubeck just to eat here again
