First thing of was the fried ice cream. Dessert before dinner was a nice treat. Our food came out hot and delicious. The burrito tasted good. The rice had sliced boiled onion slices in it. Maybe that’s a thing here in SC but I’m not used to slices of onion in my rice. The rice was bland and I seasoned it up the salsa that came with the chips.
The waitress checked on us once through out the rest of the stay. She was tending to a larger group outside which left our table out of sight. One she had a minute, I was able to pay and she was quickly hurried in mus sentence back to the kitchen by another worker. My daughter and I looked at each other like… is she coming back? That was the weirdest thing to ever happen at a restaurant. She was literally in mid sentence and walked away as soon as the other waitress said something to her in passing. Maybe there was an emergency and everyone is OK.
Not sure if I’ll go back as I’ve had better food and customer service locally. If I do, I’ll update my review.
The taste of the food was mixed, the meat in the tacos was well seasoned, but the 12 dollar “table side” Guacamole we ordered has so much lime flavor (im assuming to preserve the avocados from turning) that it was absoluteltly inedible!!
I think they really fell short on the value for the amount of food… I declined to add cheese for 2 dollars to birria tacos that were already 15 dollars and instead got a side of rice for 3.75, but the portion size of rice was so SMALL! I also dont think the amount of cheese dip for the price was worth it either. Looking over the menu it seems like they like to nickle and dime their customers.
Our waitor was friendly, but despite us coming not during rush hour, we were waiting on drinks or entrees to come out
Overall we were recommended to come here for a celebration, I dont think we’ll be returning and going somewhere with better portions for the cost of food
I ordered the Birria tacos which shocked me with a $15 price tag, but then I was taken aback when he told me that to add cheese to the tacos was an additional $2. So now I’m at $17 for 3 tacos… that’s it?? 3 tacos. No rice. No beans. SEVENTEEN dollars for 3 tacos. Whew! So I’m thinking these better be the most amazing Birria tacos I’ve ever eaten. What a huge disappointment. They came out so soggy that I had to eat it with a knife and a fork. I opened it up and first question was WHERE IS MY $2 CHEESE? It was like a teaspoon of cheese. The flavor of the meat was good, but the soggy/oily tortilla was not. I ate the meat out of 2 of the tacos and that’s all I could take of that. Never, ever, ever again.
The salsa was fantastic. Chips were good. Sweet tea was great!
Hubby had the chimichanga, which came with rice OR beans. I mean, you pay $13 for 1 chimichanga and 1 side. Could they not just throw in rice AND beans? Not like it would really affect their bottom line. He enjoyed his dinner and said it was quite flavorful.
The restaurant was really nice inside and out. It was clean and staff was friendly. There were only about 4-5 other people dining at 730p on a Friday night which was super shocking because every restaurant we tried to go to was slammed; that’s how we ended up finding this restaurant.
Overall, good food but not worth the price in my opinion. $45 for dinner (for 2) when I can pay $25 down the street for equally good Mexican food without this high price tag.
If you don’t mind being nickel and dimed for dinner, definitely try it out…but do yourself a favor and steer clear of the Birria at this location. Leaving tonight, my only thought was what I could’ve better spent that $17 on….
