We came here for our daughter s birthday on a Sunday to listen to the Mariachi while we enjoyed the endless buffet choices.
So many yummy choices.
We also came here before on other occasions and the food has been good, the drinks are good too.
It’s nice to seat outside when the weather permits it.
The service and wait time can be a bit slow.
They are often really busy. But in overall a nice restaurant to dine in.

We ordered from home on Christmas day. They ran my card and didn’t deliver. I have called so many times and no one answers. I would leave a message but their machine is full. Now at age 83, I have to go in person to get my money back. The delivery person said when they went to pick up our order, the restaurant was closed. How could they process our order if they were closed? This is the worst review I have ever given. Usually if a business is closed I am notified up front. There is no excuse for doing business like this. Now I have to make arrangements to be picked up and taken to this restaurant in person. I gave one star because I had to. They deserve zero stars. Elderly people beware.

Had reservations at 7pm for 10+ won’t sit you until everyone is there. Good food variety. Generous portions. Music is loud. It is hard to talk with one another. The kitchen closes at 8 pm. After 9 pm, they kick you out of the tables by dancing area. We got moved to a different area, though. The area is reserved for “bottle of liquor” consumers/customers. DJ music for dancing starts at 10 pm. After 12 p.m., there’s a younger crowd.

We visited Don Sal Cocina on a Friday evening for dinner. There were three in our party: me, my wife, and my teenage granddaughter. We purposely arrived a little early for dinner, about 4:30, so that we could avoid the weekend crowd.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a pleasant hostess who asked if we preferred a table or a booth. We chose a table. She cheerfully accommodated our preference, but advised us that the tables are cleared off in about three hours so that the area could be used as a dance floor. I assured her that we intended to be finished with our dinner within the three hour time limit. We both smiled at the absurd thought that my wife and I, senior citizens eating during “early bird” hours, would actually commandeer a dining table for more than three hours and interrupt the evening’s dance event.

We were escorted to our table and in a short time chips, salsa, and bean dip were set before us. We dug in immediately. The chips were nice and crunchy with just enough salt. The red salsa was full of flavor and the bean dip was good as well.

Our food server came to our table within a couple minutes to take our order. As we placed our orders, he carefully explained the basic ingredients of the dish and accommodated any requests to omit certain ingredients from the entree. (My wife is notorious for always asking that her food not include tomatoes, onions, or sour cream.)

There were many specialty items to choose from, all of which looked great and were quite tempting. However, we played it rather safe, with my wife and I getting “combo” meals and my granddaughter ordering a beef Ranchero burrito. My wife’s combo included a beef taco with a cheese enchilada. She really enjoyed it and let me have a taste of her taco. The taco was stuffed with meat, and the beef was tender and well-seasoned. My combo included a carnitas taco and a shrimp enchilada. Again, a generous portion of chunky meat was on the taco and it was tasty and tender. The shrimp enchilada contained shrimp in every bite and the sauce that came on the enchilada complimented the shrimp without overpowering it. My granddaughter really enjoyed her burrito but did not offer to share a bite with me, so I’ll have to take her word for it.

Our service was good and the interior of the restaurant is inviting with high ceilings and lots of rustic wood. We ended up quite full and satisfied, and beat our three hour time limit by two full hours. Let the dancing begin! We all enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning again someday to try something new.

I went to celebrate my friend 60th birthday, it was buffet style service the two women and a older gentleman serve us he was sweet the ladies were not so friendly talking about us in there native tongue Spanish. As I sat down to eat the food and enjoy the meatball soup a big brown German roach crawled onto our table I almost vomited in my hands from the thought of roaches my be in my food. I quickly jump up told the older gentleman about it he just turned his head so I told our male waiter he was very concerned apologizing, but the damage was done. We will never return to this place.

I met up with a friend at this restaurant and she wanted to let me know that the music is loud in there. She is right, but I didn’t mind. Fun, party music bumpin. It’s not a quiet place. They bring chips, bean dip, and salsa when you are seated. I enjoyed the bean dip. I ordered Taco de Papa. It was good. It didn’t come with beans and rice. It was 4 tacos. My friend had an enchilada. There is outside seating. One patio was closed off. It’s probably open on the weekends when it’s busy. We had lunch at noon on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy, but it’s also the same weekend as the Poppy Festival. I will be back.

First time trying the Shrimp Ceviche! Salty and fresh with lime and other flavors! Delicious! I will get this again for sure! It’s a lot more shrimp than it appears to be on this oversized plate and some of those shrimp pieces are huge!
The Carnitas taco is full of meat…enough to make 2 tacos! The roasted salsa is mild and full of flavor to go with the never ending baskets of tortilla chips. Still amazing Ceviché and live music playing directly in front of the outdoor patio.
Blackberry House Margaritas refreshing too!

First time here for me, my girlfriend has been here before. Ordered the 2 item combo and the banderilla which is a mix of beef, chicken and shrimp. Food was good but my meats were overcooked. Service was great and it’s a big place but practically empty. Place turns into a club at night so I’m sure it’s hopping then.

We came here after an unpleasant experience elsewhere and we were not disappointed. As soon as we were seated we were served and accommodated for our party seating. The food came out with little to no wait time and was very tasty especially for the price. The mimosa was strong as well. We will definitely be back!!

If you want good food and horrible then go to Don Sals. Literally one waitress was told only get our drinks even though we were ready to order. Took about 10 minutes to get our drinks ordered and weren’t even that busy. Waitress came by once to fill our drinks and someone else brought our food. I had to ask for boxes and then no one came to bring the check. I could have walked and no one would notice. First and last time coming in but might give them another chance.
