Where do I start? My wife and I rolled into Don Pancho for dinner on a weekday and left pleasantly surprised (and full). The menu is a treasure chest of authentic Mexican street-style goodies—just the kind of place that makes you glad you took the detour.
I ordered three tacos: one carnitas (slow-braised pork that melted in my mouth), one al pastor (marinated pork with that brightness of pineapple/seasoning you love), and one steak (juicy grilled carne asada). They were all solid—distinct enough to keep each bite interesting, but they shared that same fresh tortilla + good protein + flavor combo that made the trio feel cohesive and satisfying.
My wife went the soup route with the pozole, which was a treat because it’s typically a special-occasion on the menu (often Sunday). Yet there it was on a weekday evening! Big win. Hearty, rich, with tender meat and hominy, and enough warmth to make you linger.
The vibe? Super relaxed. A local favorite spot with real flavor, friendly faces, and a menu that invites you to dig in. I’d say Don Pancho is exactly the kind of place you go to when you want no-fuss, delicious Mexican comfort food done right.
Pro tip: Mix up your taco lineup—choose carnitas, al pastor, steak and taste the subtle differences. And keep an eye out for the pozole—it’s a weekday gem when they have it.

Was looking for more of a dit down service. This is counter order and they deliver. I like to sit and snack on chips and salsa first before ordering. However, with thst said, food was great and service (for what they have) was really good. Nothing left on my plate !!

I had the menudo, my son had an asada burrito. We both enjoyed it. The chips and salsa were on point. Fresh in house made chips and tortillas. Took me back home. The menudo tasted fresh and flavorful. My son devoured his burrito saying it was one of the best burritos he’s had. Definitely will revisit to try other items on the menu.

If you are looking for traditional Mexican food that is made from quality ingredients by people that care this is the place for you. The food tasted great and the staff helped walk my wife and I through our options to get the best thing. We decided to sit outside and they were making fresh tortillas and gave my wife and I some for free. This was a great experience and we will be back.

Typically a great environment, especially during the day. Glad that they’re open till 8pm, however, they tend to have very few tables available in spite of the demand.
Today, more than two hours before close, only had 3 tables available to the point that a couple was eating at one of these tables with the chairs up. At a minimum, the other chairs should have been put down for them to comfortably sit there. If they don’t want dine in late, then promote take out only.

Im from Texas where they have tex-mex but this place is authentic Mexican food. The beef was greasy and so was the chicken, but it had great flavor! It was $57 for 3 people to eat, but we also had the chip/bean for appetizer and 3 drinks. So not to bad on price. The people where very nice! If i could i would rate at 4.5 but I rounded up since I was wanting tex/mex but got true authentic Mexican food. Thank you to the people who worked there for dealing with this Texas man.

My fiancé and I used to go to a Don Panchos on 35th and Glendale. This morning we woke up wanting menudo from there, but we moved to Avondale, and are short on time. So I used Google and searched menudo near me and this Don Pancho appeared here close to us in Avondale! Could it be??!! We got ready and arrived at this Don Panchos where we were greeted very kindly we ordered our food, sat down, and got our bean and chips. From the first bite of these chips, beans, and salsa we knew this was definitely affiliated with the other Don Pancho on 35th Ave! The manager came over and asked how our food was where we responded phenomenal! We had the Chilaquiles Rojos, Menudo, and Sope! All amazing just as it tasted at the other location! I asked about the other location and she confirmed that it is a family business and that another sibling runs the other location on 35th Ave. Now that we know this information we will come more often as we did at the other location. We used to go there weekly lol went there so much they even knew us by our names I’m glad to know and have a Don Panchos near our new neighborhood! The hospitality is amazing! Thank you all and may you have more blessings to your family business for many years to come
