Starting in Omaha in 1989, Don & Millie’s is a quick-service restaurant with eight locations throughout Nebraska communities in Omaha, Lincoln, Bellevue and La Vista. We quickly became a local favorite while serving Fabulous Food, Fast and Friendly. Our success over the years has been based on recipes developed for our guests using fresh, never frozen beef in all of our burgers including our signature Double Don and serving many items made from scratch such as our beloved onion rings, baked potato soup and cheese frenchee. Restaurant locations and hours in addition to our menu offerings can be found on our website. We are happy to share that we’re “Now Proudly Employee Owned.”

I ordered a Kids Cheese Frenchees with a Fry/Ring Combo upgrade. Large side of Pickles. My husband knew he wanted the Baked Potato Soup so he went with a reserved #2 Cheeseburger Combo instead of the usual Double Don.
Food was all done well and came out quickly. Soon we were the only ones dining inside and I asked if the lobby was closed. They said it was still open another hour and to please take our time. The entire staff went out of their way to be personable and accommodating!
We had nowhere else to be so I had a couple of $1.39 Margaritas. Such a Classic .

Medium sized child got Chicken Strips but they were a bit different and she wasn’t thrilled . Little one opted for Cheese Frenchees, he likes to mix it up. My husband Loves the Double Don with everything piled on a burger! I also got the Frenchees, kids sized, just upgraded the fry. Extra Extra Pickles! Fries were a bit underdone this time which was a super bummer cuz we all love them ordinarily.
Boys shared a Chocolate Shake. Great place to get them! It’s been ages since I’ve had a buck 39 Marg so I got a Strawberry on the Rocks.
We were mid order when I realized there was a digital screen in front of me. This was one of the last old school places filling out tickets by hand and ripping off our order number.
I was like
Great customer service as usual!
They serve alcohol, which is really cool for a fast food place. Beer and margaritas. Decent prices for what you get.
They also have self-serve ranch and some kind of southwest sauce, both of which are tasty, and they get bonus points for not trying to scalp customers for little sauce cups like most places do anymore.
My single onion ring was really good. Next time I might skip the fries for some of those.
**Small complaints**
I don’t like is the fact that they are still using Styrofoam. It’s 2022 folks, time to upgrade for the environment.
The cup lids are behind the counter somewhere. If you or your kid drops one, you can’t just go grab a new one like you can at most places.
Bathrooms were NASTY. But at least they had paper towels along with the electric germ FACTORIES that people call “dryers.” I didn’t see a diaper changer, but I didn’t look in the handicap stall.
Kidsmeal portions are… tiny. If your kid is over the age of 3-4, consider getting them an adult meal.
I visited Don & Millie’s today in Lincoln and unfortunately left feeling extremely disappointed. For over $10, I expected a decent meal, but what I received was far from it. The cheeseburger combo was not only small but also unappetizing. The burger was overly salty and dripping wet leaving the bun a soggy mess, making it hard to enjoy, and the portion of fries was shockingly small—hardly worth the price.
Additionally, the cleanliness of the establishment was subpar. Tables and surfaces were not properly wiped down, and there were bits of food scattered beneath the tables, which made the overall dining experience uncomfortable.
To make matters worse, when I tried to address my concerns with the staff, they didn’t seem interested in hearing my feedback. In an economy where every dollar counts, paying $11 for such a poor experience feels unacceptable.
On a positive note the bathrooms smelled fruity and clean ish.
This used to be one of my favorite places to go to grab it a quick affordable bite to eat. It’s sad to see such a shocking price hike yet poor quality in food and theprice.
My only regret was not going a block up the street and buying a $5 cheeseburger combo meal from McDonald’s.
Drive thru service was fine but unremarkable.
