Had dinner on a Monday evening after work and it was perfect. The food, ambience and service were all great. We had the spaghetti di mare, selection of house baked bread, and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and they all were very tasty! The staff were also very friendly and attentive. The lobster ravioli had a tomato flavour that slightly diluted the lobster broth, but overall it was still good.
The pizza was fine but not particularly memorable.
For dessert, the tiramisu and lemon sorbet were just okay — the tiramisu had too much mascarpone for my taste, and I would have preferred the lemon sorbet to be fresher and more tangy, as it wasn’t particularly remarkable.

I visited this restaurant on Sunday, 21st December 2025, and had pre ordered the £44 dinner menu. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.
For the starter, I chose the calamari. It had no flavour at all. Any fast food restaurant could do better. For the main course, I selected the grilled salmon, which was equally tasteless. It seemed to be cooked and served without any seasoning whatsoever, not even salt. The dessert was tiramisu, which was overly sweet with no coffee flavour. It tasted more like cream than cheese, and the cheap chocolate sauce on top reminded me of the kind used on ice cream vans. Even supermarket tiramisu is far better.
Throughout the evening, we were served by three members of staff. One woman, one young man with curly hair who is on his second shift, and one tall man who I was told has worked there for over a year. The young man with curly hair was way much better than the tall man. Unfortunately, the tall man had a very poor attitude and seemed unwilling to serve us. He did not even realise we needed forks to eat. When placing dishes on the table, he did so loudly and carelessly, which felt rude. After informing the staff that we were ready for dessert, we were left waiting for over half an hour as they appeared to completely forget about us.
I believe this restaurant urgently needs to retrain this member of staff.
Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant. Save your money and dine elsewhere.

The food here is always so tasty, and the staff are lovely and accommodating. We are returning customers and would definitely recommend. We were having a friends catch up and it happened to be on Valentines Day, the restaurant was decorated with lovely red, heart shaped balloons for the occasion.

We came to Don Marco twice during our stay in Manchester because the food was truly excellent, the place was calm and very charming. The meals were delicious — we tried the Caesar salad, the lasagna, and the pizza as main courses. For starters, we had the garlic cheese pizza and the burratas. Everything was simply delicious! The value for money was outstanding, and the service was flawless. We highly recommend this place!

Had a reservation booked over a week in advance for a party of 10 and confirmed day of booking. Upon arrival at the booked time, our table not only wasn’t ready, but still had the previous party sat there. As we stood and waited, we had to stand in the doorway very uncomfortably as other parties were sat before us and with little acknowledgement from the staff. I would have had no issue if we were shown to a bar area to wait, or if we had been given an apology in anyway. After waiting in the doorway for 20 minutes we eventually were seated however there was an issue with the drinks order. I really enjoyed my meal and my cocktail but it was just a shame to be accompanied by such service; I had to ask for the service charge to be removed.

Visited on a Saturday night with some friends and it was a busy restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The menu is huge. The food isn’t the best or worst I’ve ever had but the potions are huge, uncomfortably so to be honest. Between 4 of us we Are a had the sharing platter (for 2) and a garlic bread to start and we could probably have skipped the mains there was so much. However the service isn’t rushed so we had a good break before the mains arrived. My friends monkfish was over cooked which was a shame, but it was generally okay. We didn’t need a dessert but had one anyway – again these were okay – but avoid the profiteroles as well the presentation is not particularly attractive. No dessert wines. When the weather is nice it’s much better to get a table outside (which is undercover). We we there for nearly three hours and didn’t feel rushed at all. I think overall it’s a nice place to go with a group of friends. I don’t think I would go here for a romantic meal. Considering the location the price was fair for the food. Overall it’s more like 3.5 stars than 4, but we had a nice time.
