The story of Don Julio reflects a family tradition in the world of traditional Mexican cuisine, which comes from the great-grandparents of the current generation of the family. In 1975, Don Sacramento Rodriguez opened one of the first Mexican restaurants in the United States, in the city of Athens, GA. There he developed from the hands of his wife Josephine (Doña Pepa) the most delicious recipes brought from his native Jalisco. This restaurant was called “El Azteca”. Today, Don Julio Mexican Kitchen and Don Julio Mexican Grill continues this tradition in the region of Central Florida, with its current locations in Orlando and Lake Mary, with the Chef Jesus Roman, who also develop recipes Doña Pepa with his own touch.

Service, food, and atmosphere were all wonderful! The only thing I didn’t quite understand was the additional $2 charge for shredded cheese with the fajitas. Aside from that, everything was excellent—chips and salsa, shrimp fajitas, and tacos were all delicious, and the Spanish rice was especially delightful. Portions are generous too; I easily got three meals out of one fajita entrée.

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch. I haven’t visited this Don Julio in about 4 years, and the atmosphere has completely changed—for the better! We shared the Don Julio sampler, which was $30 and was just enough food for us both. The grilled steak was incredible, perfectly cooked and very flavorful. Our waitress, Sabrina, was lovely and checked in on us throughout our meal. I will definitely be back for happy hour!

We visited this place for the third time and they never fail to deliver and the customer service is amazing.It was my husband birthday and the birthday boy wanted to pay for everyone. So,he went and ask the waiter to give him the tab and she said”Aren’t you thr birthday boy”?Craig said”Yes.So,Sabrina the waiter said”I can’t let you do that and she asked him did he need anything else”?He said “No”.She smiled and walked away. I recently visited Don Julio’s for the first time and it was SO DELICIOUS! I ordered the choripollo, and it was perfectly balanced and delicious. Be sure to ask for Santiago, he was an incredibly attentive and kind server. I’ll be back!!

I stopped by Don Julio for a quick lunch and had a great experience! I sat at the bar, and Yeani took care of me. She was so sweet, attentive, and made sure I was in and out in time for my lunch break. The service was fast and efficient, and the food was really good.
