I’m here to give props for the absolutely amazing meal we had at this restaurant a few nights ago. Ordered 3 dishes from the specials menu; creamy poblano pepper soup for a start was fantastic. Just the right spice level and thickness, and something that I and my partner had never experienced before. Her birria tacos were outstanding, tender stewed beef with fresh home made corn tortillas. I took a gamble and ordered the meatloaf… at a Mexican restaurant?? Yes, and it was crazy good. Rich, sweet, salty, and a little spicy along with it’s side of spicy, thick, creamy mac and cheese. Service was good and drinks were strong. Really have enjoyed our food here in the past, and will be back again.

I have been a loyal patron of this restaurant since I was a child (now 50) when it was in Edison park and I lived in Park ridge. The owner who was always there. Every single time. We came in here today for my husband’s birthday and I was just shocked. We were given two cans of coke with straws in them. The waiter was rude and barely spoke. The food. Of the wonderful food I used to enjoy? Was now an over cooked mess. The portion HALF of what it used to be and the quality was lacking. I unfortunately will not be returning and ending a long term relationship with a restaurant that I’ve been going to basically my whole life. I wish that it wasn’t so bad I could try again but it wasn’t. I can’t waste another 100$ on crap.

Visiting from out of state and ordered the nachos and the quesadilla. Food was OK, not worth the hassle though. The worse part was waiting for our check. We stopped the server at least 4 times and also flagged down the owners son. We were tired from travel and just wanted to give them our money. We waited over 20 minutes for our check – as we are honest folks and won’t just walk out. Poorest service EVER.

Ordered enchilada dinner, soup, and 3 tacos to say the least I won’t be back here, the food definitely wasn’t worth what I paid for it chicken was shredded instead of diced for the enchiladas and they were served with a bunch of shredded cheese on them instead of queso blanco, food was flavorless, portions were small to add insult to the matter, even the free chips and salsa were a disgrace. Hopefully this review hits home and they reconsider what they are serving out the door. I’ve eaten many of places all over and if I like it I leave a review or vice versa if it’s disgusting I leave a review so that other people can see and so that the establishment can correct the quality.

The owners Jake and Mike accepted me into their restaurant with open arms as Marco gave me one of the most refreshing strawberry mojitos I’ve ever had(and I get them alot). This location was created after Jake’s mom’s(Maria) originalr restaurant shut down. She created an absolutely stunning menu and this location has my heart. They let me sit at the bar and indulged me with their hospitality.
Highly recommend this place for cocktails or for an authentic Mexican meal. 5 stars during their hospitable lunch hour that had me wanting to come back for more.

This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it will be my last. I was excited to try the fish tacos, but the experience fell far short of expectations. The Paloma I ordered was flat and flavorless—disappointing coming from a Mexican restaurant that should know how to make a proper one. I specifically asked for a corn tortilla and was given flour instead. The fish itself was clearly not fresh—just small, fish stick-like pieces that seemed microwaved and thrown into a tortilla.
To make matters worse, I was incorrectly charged for my friend’s tab—even though she had already paid—and had to go through the hassle of getting it refunded and then repaying for mine. Overall, this visit was a letdown from start to finish. I won’t be returning.

Stopped in and had lunch, it wasn’t really busy, we were greeted and seated quickly, our order was taken quickly, and the food brought out quickly. They brought out chips and salsa first, the chips were okay, the salsa was kind of like a Mole sauce, I did not like it. I ordered the enchiladas with Verde sauce, I got one chicken, one cheese, and one ground beef. It was okay, I’ve had worse I’ve had better, the chicken in the enchilada was shredded and didn’t taste right. I did however get a pasta dish with chicken in it to take home and that was surprisingly good.
Overall it is a “high-end” Mexican restaurant, with high prices and just decent food. You can go to an authentic place and get a better meal at a much cheaper price. I probably won’t go back, unless it’s for some kind of group get-together. Parking is difficult around here as well.
