I searched for a burrito place while I was in this part of Phoenix. Glad I stopped at Don Jose’s!
Met the proprietor, very nice gentleman. Extremely helpful. Ambiance is great, food as well! A little dirty (where it doesn’t matter), but I’m ok with that. Lots of pickup orders while I sat and ate.
Got a sausage burrito with cheese, extra egg and pico, etc. Very good! Red sauce wasn’t nearly as spicy as I hoped. Still good though.
I’ll be back.

Wife and I were visiting family and picked this spot randomly. Owner met us with a very warm welcome and friendly conversation while we waited for our order. Our food was fantastic and we would totally come back in a heartbeat. The owner even let me try his freakishly hot hot-sauce he makes personally. It was impressively hot so if you don’t like hot stuff, do not try it.

It’s 4.7 to 5 stars for me. Ambience could take it up to a real 5 star including a dining room refresh and deep clean as it is dusty and dirty in some little parts. The carne asada torta was so good we got a second one. The cashier was friendly and helpful.
the chicken taco was just ok maybe a bad choice from me. Green salsa was really good. Red salsa above average. They have a single tv and lots of decorations just like Mexico. I would return and get the carne asada again for sure. And a dash of salt maybe.

Great food, sauces are fresh and tasty, tortillas seem homemade. Everything was seasoned to perfection. We tried the burrito and fajita quesadilla with pollo – all incredible. Visiting from Australia and this is the best local restaurant we tried. Highly recommend getting the churro with caramel inside, that was a delight.

Little mom and pop place. Clean, mostly self serve. First time there. Large menu and good price. My carne asada burrito was tasty and large. Tortilla were very good. Wife had chicken and cheese on a tortilla. Pretty good also.

Surprisingly good little hole in the wall. This is just the kind of hidden gem we love finding. It is a no frills mexican restaurant with excellent food at a reasonable price. The service was friendly and the food was fresh and delicious.
