First time visiting and it definitely won’t be my last! This restaurant has been around for about six years, and I’ll admit I previously overlooked it because of its location in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. I really wish I hadn’t—I was impressed with everything from the food and décor to the service and large menu. There’s so much I want to come back and try.
From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and friendly. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and water were brought out right away, which was a great start.
They have a full-service bar, and while they don’t offer frozen cocktails, we didn’t miss them at all. The coconut margarita and passionfruit rum cocktail were strong, flavorful, and delicious. They were happy to substitute rum for tequila, and we loved the Tajín and sugar rim options. Drinks were also served in nice, heavy margarita glasses.
We ordered from the House Special Grill and couldn’t have chosen better. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp with creamy corn salsa, and I had the grilled steak with sautéed onions, homemade tortillas, nopales, rice, and beans—everything tasted fresh and authentic.
We finished with one of the best flans I’ve ever had and hot Mexican coffee. Great food, great drinks, wonderful service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We tried this place for the first time for what we thought would be for lunch, but it ended up being a very early dinner at 3:45pm on a Saturday because we missed the cut-off time for lunch, I guess. (We didn’t ask, but we received dinner menus to order off of.) My man was disappointed they didn’t have the TV on (he was hoping to watch some College football while eating). Service was great! They checked on us often. The food was delicious. We ordered the calamari for appetizers. It was a bit on the flaky side for my man, but I was fine with it. He ordered the burrito with diablo shrimp. It wasn’t overly spicy and the burrito was big. He only ate half. (Not sure if it was worth the price, though.) I ordered the flautas stuffed with shredded beef. We didn’t have room for dessert, unfortunately.

Tried this place for the first time but for takeout. Owner came out of the kitchen and greeted me and handed me my food. I truly enjoyed the food. I ordered 2 burritos and an order of nachos and a chicken quesadilla for my kid. Everything was delicious. Definitely coming back. Good staff friendly hostess/waitress.
P.S. their Flan is out of this world.

Very cute restaurant, with the sweetest staff! Complimentary chips and salsa was very good. The chips were warm and fresh & the salsa had so much flavor. Do not skip on the coconut margarita or coconut mojito, both were very refreshing and very strong. I got the verde chicken enchiladas which were soooo good! But immediately regretted not getting the enchiladas that came with all the different sauces. The mole sauce especially was very flavorful. They have a huge selection for food and drinks. Definitely will be back soon

First time visit with friends and we all loved it! It’s a cute small place in the strip mall where Harmon & Bed, Bath and Beyond were.
Our waiter Renen was absolutely wonderful. The food and chips and salsa were so tasty and so was the sangria Great atmosphere

Went for dinner around 5pm on Tuesday 12/29/25 with my fiancée. Ordered the corn, tacos arabes, and the Puebla combo. The food was too good to take a picture of, couldn’t stop eating. Got salsa verde on the tamale in the combo and it was the best tamale we ever had. Both came with perfect portions of plump rice and soft, flavorful beans. There were only 2 other tables, service was great. Clean restaurant and bathrooms, decorated with love. This is my go-to place when I’m craving Mexican and want to sit in a casual place and chill and chat for a bit. I usually get takeout from the trucks on South Broadway or Tacos El Poblano.

Friday night around 6:30pm with my wife we got one of the last inside tables.
Easy going, but relatively fast service.
Excellent food.
We got tacos doradas, enchiladas banditas and chimichanga. churros for dessert.
I would easily come back here but with more people. They have grill plates for both meats and seafoods. I will come back with 4-6 to do shareables!

Probably the Top Mexican spot in Yonkers so far. I have eaten here twice already. We discovered it after taking the kids to skyZone next door. Burritos and flan were amazing. Staff was warm and welcoming. A true family business. The owner himself is the one cooking and preparing everything. Place was clean. Food was delicious. My new favorite mexican spot. Good job guys!!!

Visited Don Jose with a simple google search. Craving authentic Mexican, we decided to get place a shot.
Upon arrival, we discovered plenty of parking which gave us a piece of mind.
My friend ordered Fish Tacos and I ordered the tacos al pastor. The tacos were yummy and flavorful but my friend indicated the fish tacos didn’t have any seasoning.
The service staff were prompt and attentive. The place was decorated with a vibrant and festive mix of traditional Mexican decor elements to create an authentic atmosphere. The Mexican art was tasteful and the array of colors were attractive and appealing.
Restrooms were extremely clean and kept well. Restroom is ADA.
I definitely recommend this spot if you want to try some savory dishes.

I stopped by Don Jose with a friend for dinner, and we had a great experience. The service was attentive and welcoming, and the food was delicious. We ordered the skirt steak tacos, which were incredible, and the chicken quesadilla was also good.
I would definitely come back every time I’m in the area.
