This was my first time trying this restaurant and I am more then happy and impressed with the friendly service and great tasting food. I called first because I was looking for a place that sells regular crunchy tacos with fried shells rather than the store bought already crunchy shells. I’ve been looking for a place like this for a while so anyway the young lady who answered was very nice and polite and she said that they fried their own shells. I went right up there and ordered the crispy taco lunch plate and the tacos were everything! Just exactly what I was looking for and will definitely be returning for. But the homemade lemonade was off the chain too! Thanks Don Jorge.

Late dinner, the restaurant wasn’t packed but they still took such a long time to get the food out to us.
I had two gorditas, rajas con queso and picadillo. They were ok, lacked seasoning and seemed maybe like the guisados were a little old. My boyfriend got a puerco gustado, that was ok. Rice & beans were ok too.
The guy taking care of us was very friendly and attentive, I think they are just short staffed in the kitchen. Not sure if we would be back, probably not unless we are in the area.

I’ve been coming here since they first opened and NO one Would come to them. I made a to go order today But to have a charge for a “Full order” charge of $3.00, on top of taxes and another “service” charge?! We understand the Economy went up for everyone including grocery, gas and life but come on ?! We love your food and it’s good but it’s not that good! it’s convenient because it’s close, but that will change! Gonzales is down the street too!

Ok so I am not normally one to leave reviews however this place deserves one! Not only is the food authentically Mexican and delicious but the service from all the staff is amazing! I felt very welcomed and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Give this place a try if you’re after authentic Mexican food.

I ordered from Uber eats. This was the best birria Ramen ever. It was packed full of meat. I ate on it all day. I also had 2 tacos. I didn’t like those as much, they were small and flavor was missing. But I will drive to the location next time for this Ramen. Uber is a ripoff. My meal was $26 and I know it was well overpriced.

I really, really wanted to love this place based on the raving reviews but unfortunately, our visit fell flat. We got here at 10:30am and there was a steady stream of customers already there, but there was only one server attending to all of the tables, and he definitely looked flustered. There was a wait for everything: chips and salsa, drinks, order to get taken, food, checkins, everything. The guy came around 15-20mins after we arrived to take our order, and we got our order almost 40mins later. Our tortilla soup was missing tortilla strips, and we could not get ahold of our server because he was in and out of the kitchen with orders. Another server arrived around 11am and started attending to new tables, and I think she was the manager(?) also did as well. We ended up stopping one of them for help. If the food was great, I think it could’ve made up a little bit for the waiting for everything, but it was just okay.

The food was amazing, we definitely gave our compliments to the Chef. On top of that, the staff were amazing as well. I loved my Sunday that much more, thanks to Don Jorge’s Cocina. Also I didn’t see what we had ordered listed, other than what I selected, the Guadalajara Plate I had was amazing, and she had the Enchiladas Plate. These 2 I recommend as well. I’m looking forward to my next visit, to try the other cuisine’s they have to offer.

This is one of those places that you will only know if you were raised in Pleasant Grove, considered a “hole in the wall” one of those places that becomes addictive due to it’s home style flavors. I have been coming here for over 20 years and seeing the same staff and the warmth we receive makes the atmosphere even more lovely. Arturo is one to remember you and give you the best service time after time. If you give this place a try go with the traditional dish “menudo” you will love it ❤️ and yes the flan is authentic
