4/5 is only because the California burrito had undercooked potatoes. The guacamole and chips on the other hand were phenomenal and because of this led to me finishing it first before finishing the burrito. Glad I did. You also get sizable servings on the guac. Well with the price.
The atmosphere is due to the fact it’s in downtown Portland. As of January 2024, it’s still rough especially after the recent ice storm we had in the area.

I found this place on Google maps strangely enough, and so I saved it to a list. Why? Kind of a long story involving friends, street food, and Cali burritos. Eventually I found myself in Portland, and so I had to try it. It was everything I had hoped for, and the vendor’s enthusiasm added to the whole experience. Nice little place that I highly recommend.

Fantastic tacos. Fantastic service. Fantastic human. I’m in town to see a friend’s and neglected to charge my phone. Which meant when I was having a issue with my card I wasn’t able to just look and see what was wrong–so no tacos for me right? Wrong! This wonderful man charged my phone while I ate, allowing me to swap some money around and pay him and be able to operate the rest of this evening in our phone dependent society. Thanks bunches.

I came to get a chicken burrito for my boyfriend. I seen a sign for Tamales and thought I’d give them a try. I’d consider myself a tamales expert at this point. DUDE THE GREEN CHICKEN TAMALES GO HARD. The Habanero hot sauce is soooo fresh and spicy. I also got the cheese and pork tamale. The masa is soft, not rubbery like some places. the meat ratio is perfect . Not skimpy at all. Fresh flavors and nice spice to them. I’ll definitely be back.

The carnitas tacos were some of the best in the PNW, tender and flavorful and affordable!
Horchata was packed with rich rice flavor, not too much cinnamon and perfectly sweet.

They’re friendly and happy for your business. The burritos are affordable for current times, loaded, heavy, and delicious. I got chicken for me and vegan for my partner and both were awesome! Best I’ve had for a while. It’s a food cart downtown so people are going to walk by asking for money, what can you do? spare a buck if you can but also tip these workers good, it’s hot in those carts and they’re cooking for you in there! Thanks Don Jalapeno! I have a very happy tummy!!! Whenever I’m downtown you’ll get a visit from me..
