I stopped into Don Giovanni’s Italian Bakery to place a large order of cookie trays for my clients and couldn’t be more impressed. When I came in around midday, Maria let me know they didn’t have 12 trays ready at that moment, but she immediately offered to have all 12 made fresh and ready by 2 PM the very next day. A 24-hour turnaround on that size order is absolutely incredible.
I came back the next day around 2:30 PM and everything was ready to go. They were extremely accommodating and made the entire process easy. Huge shoutout to Maria for helping me from the start, Debbie for jumping in, and Nick, who prepared the trays himself.
Thank you all for coming through in a time crunch and helping make the holidays extra special for my clients. This is my third year buying cookies from Don Giovanni’s, and I’ll continue to do so because of the amazing customer service, fast turnaround, and how delicious everything is.

1st time ordering. The woman that took my order was phenomenal! She went out of her way…took it upon herself to make sure my order was properly taken & called me back to see if I had a rewards card!
Cheese steak was superb!
Not greasy at all! The bread alone was to die for as they make there own rolls (bakery on site)…
Pizza .sauce was a great consistency!
Chicken fingers not greasy..but delicious.

Got the Deluxe Italian Prosciutto,sapprosetta, mortadella, capicola ,sharp provolone lettuce, tomatoes and red onions on a house made roll. Great hoagie except for the thick sliced meat. Need to turn the dial in half. House bread made bread is awesome. Lettuce was one thin layer I prefer a pile of shredded. Everyone does things differently. Service was awesome and classic italian deli atmosphere. Everything in the cases looked awesome. Eggplant rototini, pizza etc. Also got some baked goods. Thought I was getting the raspberry cream cheese Danish as that was what I saw in the window but got just raspberry ♂️ Guess that’s on me for not specifying but I never saw the other one? Pastries were kinda dry also. Probably wouldn’t order those again. Would definitely try the cheese steak or pizza next time. Solid 4.3.

The Tiramisu is incredible!! Best I have found anywhere in a long time. They have fresh made mozzarella balls which are delicious and beats driving to South Philly for them. I normally love their Jewish Apple cake but the last couple times I bought those they have been very dry. They have really nice assorted mini dessert trays when you need to take something to a party or something ( very reasonable)
Also, the staff is really nice and always greets you with a smile. It’s 7/21/24 and I am adding on to a review I posted a while ago. We ordered a special cake for my nieces 18th Birthday. Her Golden birthday. We ordered a large round Death by Vanilla with Gold writing. When we arrived to pick up they said oh we had been waiting for you. The lady that writes on the cakes said GOLD doesn’t come out looking gold. It always looks yellow, we appreciated her waiting and explaining this. She offered suggestions and then we went with black writing with gold balls on it. We wanted it to look special….more elegant than traditional birthday cakes and they delivered. The cake was GORGEOUS and my niece loved it. When She first saw it she said so elegant and we knew we got it right. The cake was delicious.

I’ve been going there for several months now, mostly for the fresh turkey breast which is really really good. Over the holidays I got some pizzelles. They are the best I’ve ever had. I keep going back for more. My dog took a liking to them and I now have to hide somewhere to eat them. He won’t leave me alone, even hears me undoing the bag and comes running. Next time I get some I might have to eat them in the car. I don’t want to share them, their that good! Overall a great place, delicious food and real nice people working there. 5 star for sure.

Oh my goodness what a difference a roll makes!! The ladies at Don Giovanni’s are amazing! It’s takeout only so we went to Naked Brewing. Carrying the cheesesteak I could tell it had some weight to it. When I opened the container and saw that roll and then picked up that roll oh my goodness I knew we were in for a treat. We got the super steak. It was super! My only concern is the extra stuff, fried onions, mushrooms & peppers. They were delicious and big pieces but they were not mixed in very well and it was noticeable when I went a few bites without an extra. Overall great Cheesesteak experience. We took our cheesesteak to naked brewing and we love Naked Brewing. PSA, Naked Brewing is just a catchy name no one was actually naked much to the dismay of the ladies at the end of the bar because the young man that kept coming out of the back was handsome.

Don Giovanni’s always has delicious food. We’ve ordered from Don’s for takeout, catering and tried everything from their homemade rolls, to pizza and their scrumtrulescent platters. Pictures below show Sicilian 1/2 sheet with mushrooms, Stromboli roll ups (tomato / spinach, pepperoni, steak) and breadsticks. The photo missing is of my wife’s fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. The catering is always great and we get rave reviews every time we use Don’s for a parry. I highly recommend Don Giovanni’s Classic Bakery on Street Rd.
