Please save your money and go somewhere else. It was our first time here and what a disappointment and the price made it worst that I think we got ripped off!! 124$ for two breakfast and two drinks!!! if the food had been good I wouldn’t have mind the price, the eggs looked and tasted like they been fried 2 times the Gallopinto was cold to be honest everything on the plate was not good I had to add all the sour cream on it for a better taste . The ONLY good thing was the Cacao “ .. the place was super cold , there was no toilet paper or paper towels in the washroom

We had a great meal here with old friends! We ordered just about everything on the Nica menu, and it was all delicious, especially the Nacatamal. I have never tried Nicaraguan cuisine before and will be back for more soon!

A disappointed visit. Nothing like a Nicaraguan restaurant, they might have things up on the wall that represents Nicaragua, but nothing on their menu told me it was a Nicaraguan restaurant. They didn’t offer a Nicaraguan menu, only a Mexican menu. Their only Nicaraguan menu is on their tv that moves SUPER FAST, and they have a QR code to their Nicaraguan menu but their menu isn’t up online. so if you’re ever wanting to try a Nicaraguan cuisine, your best bet is to NOT GO here. They should probably change the name to a Mexican name to not confuse people, because I was definitely confused. Service was TRASH. Owner was just as TRASH as the server/service. It wasn’t busy at all, but that girl acted like she was busy. There was about only 1 person in that restaurant but they were done eating, so it was only us 4 at one table. Didn’t know if we should wait at our table or go up to the cashier. Not welcomed in there AT ALL. Lady didn’t explain NOTHING especially if we have never visited that restaurant before. They gave attitude literally the whole night. A terrible terrible experience. Maybe they’re trained to be just as rude as the owner. Food was okay. But if I could rate this place -1000 it would be up there because it was bad.
Went to a Nicaraguan restaurant in San Francisco, California, nothing like this place. This restaurant was just to the trash. ALSO THEY OVER PRICED THE HECK out of their menu and snacks. Possible price gouging. The way they had those prices, you would expect better service. And better food.

Really great meal here. We went with a group of 7 and got the shared platter, which was perfect for getting to try everything. The staff were very friendly. Excited to go back to try more of the dishes.

I recently visited Don gallopinto, and I must say, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt off. The place was dimly lit, which might have been okay if it weren’t for the sticky tables and the peculiar smell that lingered in the air.
I ordered the pollo asado, expecting a flavorful, succulent chicken. What I got instead was an overcooked, dry piece of meat that had all the flavor of cardboard. It was so tough that I had to wrestle with it just to cut a piece. The seasoning was almost nonexistent, leaving me wondering if they forgot to add anything at all.
The sides were equally disappointing. The gallo pinto was bland and mushy, and the beans tasted as if they had been sitting around for days and lot of oil on it. To top it off, the service was lackluster. Our server seemed uninterested and lack of communication in what is on the plates
All in all, my visit to was a letdown. I left feeling disappointed and hungry, and I absolutely won’t be returning. Save your time and money and go somewhere else!
Para los Nicaragüenses: si van a ir por las toñas está bien aparte de eso. La comida está horrible, sin sabor, con aceite viejo y por si acaso quemada.

I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately it was not the case. My husband and I ordered grilled chicken and tacos de carne. The tacos were decent not going to lie but when it come to the chicken I have to say it’s the worse place I have ever eaten in my life and that’s to say a lot because I couldn’t even eat it. It was so burned and hard like a rock. Everything seemed fried with very old and used oil and definitely way too overcooked. We told our server that the chicken was really bad and it was impossible to eat something like that. He responded ok and that was it. We left the plate untouched and left the restaurant. The place is not cheap considering the kind of food. Really sad that it didn’t work because I’ve been waiting for a Nicaraguan restaurant for so long.

Really disappointing, they offered a variety in their menu but unfortunately when you get to the place they don’t have anything of that available, I tried the Vigoron mixto and as a Nicaraguan this has been the worst I’ve ever tried, definitely not coming back to this place again!

As a Nicaraguan I wanted to try this restaurant because of the review…. But I think the people rating this place with 5 stars for the food, probably never cooked in Nicaragua or have bad taste.. I ordered today the soup and it was way overpriced! $25! I expected it to be so good, but it wasn’t. It was fine, but it didn’t have corn, cilantro, quequisque (taro) or chilotes (I know it’s hard to get) but it’s just a Mexican chicken soup with yuca and potatoes! The service was fine… but I wouldn’t recommend the soup… I still want to try their carne asada, we’ll see… I think if the soup was $16 or even $18… but $25?? No thanks.
