This was delicious! We stopped in after wedding dress shopping and my bff and I were so hungry! The waiter came right to the table, our food came out so fast! It was so good! Flavorful! He was very nice! I would come back again and again. She got the spicy burrito and I got the fajita quesadillas.

I really truly wanted to love this place because it’s way closer to our house than El Cozumel in Burton. Unfortunately, this was our first and last time. Service was fine but that’s about as good as the experience got. The food is where Don Felipe pales in comparison to El Cozumel. I ordered the same thing I get at El Cozumel so I could do a proper comparison. Quesabirria tacos, carne asada tacos and steak fajitas. Every single item I got, without exception, was not seasoned at all. No salt or spices to speak of. The chips tasted store bought but they were warm which was nice…but it was weird that they didn’t taste fresh but came warm. Salsa was very similar to jarred store bought. The quesabirria tacos are smaller than El Cozumels and came with red onion instead of white which made them sweeter. Again, they didn’t have any salt or seasoning to speak of. The consomme you dip them in was Luke warm instead of piping hot and was not the right color and didn’t taste like much and didnt come with special salsa like El Cozumel serves. The carne asada tacos came with iceberg lettuce and cheese which is so odd to me. El Cozumel serves them with cilantro, white onion and special spicy tomatillo salsa and lime. No lime at Don Felipe let alone a special salsa or something to give them flavor. It was also more expensive than El Cozumel which was shocking. The refried beans were the best thing on the table and they still lacked flavor. The rice had peas carrots and corn as filler and again, no flavor to speak of. I have clearly been spoiled by El Cozumel and there’s a reason they just opened a second location 5 minutes from the original location lol they’re always popping and do fantastic work.

A group of us celebrated a coupe birthdays here and it was an awesome time. The food was delicious and the vibes were laid back. I will definitely stop back in for lunch or dinner sometime.

i’ve ordered the birria tacos on 4 different occasions, two being takeout. always delicious, portions are always good and they never skimp out on the sides. service is always good, polite, and quick. prices are fair and definitely worth it! anybody i’m with always compliments whichever dish they get but i’ve hooked a few people onto their birria tacos. love coming here!

Place was packed so we sat in outside area, which was not bad, although several flys were bugging patrons. One of the impressive traits of Mexican restaurants is the quick service and hot food. This visit was disappointing. We waited for chips (had to remind someone), waited to order (had to flag someone down), waited for our meals (which were lukewarm warm at best) – they must have sitting for a while, waited for our check. The food was good and watching the service around us, others had a much better experience. I would be willing it give it another go if we are in the area.

Walking in, it looked authentic and has a great atmosphere, but after sitting down, we felt like getting a server was hard. This would be ok if the restaurant was busy, but it was empty. We were 1 of 2 guest in the whole restaurant. The staff seemed to be laughing and enjoying themselves in the back rather then pay attention to the guests. The food was good and I would like to try more from the menu. 1-10 I would give them a 6.0. More potential with more focus on guests.

Some of the best Mexican food we have ever eaten. We live coming here. There portions are huge. You littery order and then 3mins later your food is on your table. The drinks are amazing . The staff is very friendly and kind. They always make mine and my wifes food perfectly along with the drinks . We live this place. Keep up the great service and great food guys and gals . Thank you .

I love this place! Hands down the place Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to! Not only is the food phenomenal but the atmosphere and servers are awesome! They got me with whip cream on my birthday! I always get the street tacos when I come and they’re amazing! The margaritas are so big and tasty, and the Burrito Preferido is HUGE!! Thank you Don Felipe for the yummy food and great customer service every time I come
