1-2024 Prices up to the $12s and feels like the presentation has declined. They’re using very long, but thin slices of fish to give you the impression of plenty, but I was full only after eating a seafood mix + half a medium udon + two pieces of fried kabocha from the udon shop next door. Decently healthy, fast food alternative in this food court to the meat dishes.
10-2022 Seafood mix bowl up to $11.75, up 39% in 3 years. Quality of the cuts, presentation, and taste has continued declining. Used to be a healthy choice for slightly more, but now it’s entering the overpriced range.
09-2021 2 years later and the Seafood mix bowl has increased from $8.45 to $10.45, while using thinner slices of fish.
Generally delicious however and one of the cheaper ears in Mitsuwa.
The Salmon bowl is a good start if you’re into fresh fish, and Don Don Tei is one of the better choices to eat at first in Mitsuwa (best being Gyutan for the taste, but they’ve become too pricey).
They are a fair value for what you get. I feel you can spend just as much anywhere else or more but here the fish is fresh and clean. Worth the value to me.
By the way, their Oyako Don Buri is also excellent. The egg omelet cooked just right. It’s a popular dish in Hawaii and Japan. Comfort food
