I love the asada street tacos. Can’t get enough of them. I tried something new this visit. I think they were the nachos locos, really good.

Somebody told us that there was no good Mexican food in Hattiesburg. We decided to try out Don Chuy’s because we were next to it, and our minds were blown. First off the service. The two times that we’ve gone we’ve been served by the same sweet waitress! Food comes out super fast. The food is amazing. We weren’t disappointed both times, the food actually far exceeded our expectations. If you like Mexican food come here. If you don’t like Mexican food come here. My wife likes Mexican food, but it’s not her favorite, but the second time we went it was her choice to go get the big burrito! Or the Don Chuy Philly cheese steak burrito!! So good 🙂

Good place to get Mexican food, friendly service. I got four tacos each of a different meat for takeout. Unfortunately, there was no salsa and chips for takeout compared to other places. The quality of the meat was OK, some chicken pieces were chewy, some of the pork was kind of crunchy. I would come back though..

We have been wanting to check this place out for a while. The parking lot was a bit more full then usual so we figured it’s catching on and worth a visit. Well, it surely was! Let me start off with, this is the best cheese dip in Hattie, salsa wasn’t lacking in flavor either. We made a modification to on dish as we weren’t sure about the Guajillo sauce, however it was good in small portions(the orange sauce we got on the side). Neither dish we selected came with rice & beans however due to portion size it wasn’t needed.

As someone who eats all over the country and LOVES Mexican food, whether it’s from a food truck or hole in the wall shack or a sit down restaurant. This place was a HUGE disappointment.
I have never in my life had a street taco served to me with only one corn tortilla, no lime , no cucumber or radish or pickled carrots, and no kind of sauce. When I asked the waiter about it, he seriously looked confused.
The steak meat had zero flavor and was so full of grizzle and fat, it was almost uneatable.
I guess avocado must be pretty expensive as I only got 3 thin slices on my dry burrito.
I would not recommend this place.

Devoured the Burrito Don Chuy for lunch. This big boy does not play around: the combination of flavour with Philly steak, onions, bell peppers, thick queso and a hint of chorizo is sublime.
Do not pass this baby by.
For lighter eaters, could even be two meals here (half for now, half for later).

Delicious food, cheap prices, excellent service, and quick! One of the best restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure to dine in.

My wife and I went here around 4:30 p.m. on a Tuesday. There was no other customers. I ordered a beer, she ordered a pineapple margarita. We ordered and the waitress never wrote it down. My wife’s food was wrong. She didn’t get her margarita until after we got our food. They said the margarita machine wasn’t frozen. Give us one on the rocks. This was a very disappointing experience. The food was nothing special. The drinks were not good and the service was bad. If you want a good experience, don’t go here.

Don Chuy’s is a must try Mexican restaurant! Their cheese dip is the best in town. I also love their carne asada fries and their tacos – the al pastor and carnitas are my favorite. If you’re looking for a great local Mexican restaurant, this is the place!
