This is a small Latin themed Market-Deli w/ limited food items. On a working man’s salary you get a hearty, fresh cooked meal that is mostly above average to spot on for the local area.
If you are in a rush you will be better served going to a drive-thru ELSEWHERE. If you can only understand ‘Murican, go elsewhere. If you need your hand held to pick food to order, go elsewhere.

I’ve tried a lot of spots, but this has become my go-to for pupusas. While I really like Don Chema’s Tienda & Deli, the food here has a authenticity which sets it apart. The pupusas are a must-try. I drive from Quantico for them because l can’t find this quality anywhere else nearby. l recommended the pupusas for anyone craving the real thing.

Service at this place is absolutely terrible! The employee that assisted my order was very rude and impatient because I didn’t know Spanish and spoke English. At the time, I was with friends that are fluent Spanish speakers and they spoke in Spanish when they ordered and I noticed the employees were more nice to them. However when I ordered, they had an attitude with a look of disgust just because I didn’t speak Spanish. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Also, my order was the last to come out even though I ordered first compared to my friends that ordered after me. Additionally, the pupusas were soggy and bland while the pollo con tajadas was terrible. The chicken lacked flavor and so did the tajadas. Never going back to this establishment again!

My boys and I tried quite a few different menu items and found each to be uniquely enjoyable in their own way. The Papusas were especially fantastic. While the in grocery store dining atmosphere is fine, we Will most likely use this for takeout in the future. There also seemed to be plenty of imported grocery items.

Its always great to have a place that has a lot of your traditional Latin products. This store used to be on top of everything but sadly, it has gone down hill in the past couple of years. Food is bad and customer service non existent pretty much, almost as if the managers or owners do not care about this no more.

Located where Cici’s used to be, definitely an upgrade. Tried the carnitas and pastor tacos. The carnitas had tons of flavor and were my favorite. My son got the shredded steak and eggs which are served with refried beans and thick corn tortillas. He loved it. Definitely going back to try more of the menu. Would love to see some lengua added as an option for the tacos.

Followed the advice of prior reviewers and gave Don Chema’s a shot. Absolutely WORTH IT. Their al pastor taco is their magnum opus. Juicy, crispy, loaded with flavor, tons of meat, and only $2.75 a pop! I got one al pastor taco, two carnitas tacos, and one chorizo. The carnitas were a bit dry, but nothing a squeeze of lime juice and some Verde salsa could not fix. The al pastor was so, so good. So good, after I polished off the first four, I went back up to the counter and ordered a fifth taco, al pastor. This place just became my favorite taco joint in the area.

The pupusa was the highlight, so good and the sauce and pickled veggies it came with were great. The carne asada taco was kinda dry, adding sauce helped. The hot sauce on the table is very spicy which for me was great! Chorizo taco was very tasty
