If you’re in downtown Boise and craving a great sandwich, Don and Charly’s Sandwich Shop is a must-try! We ordered the Turkey Bacon and the Italian Deli, and both were stacked to the max with fresh meats and packed with flavor. The bread was soft with a good crust and every bite was loaded with quality ingredients.

Fast service, friendly staff, and generous portions make this a standout spot for lunch or a quick bite. The only downside is that the space is pretty small with limited seating, so it’s probably best to grab it to go.

Highly recommend if you love classic deli sandwiches or are looking for a great local sandwich shop downtown.

Cute little nook to grab lunch. I had the chicken bahn mi. The bread is the best part as the bahn mi was quite blah. The side salad ingredients were fresh and the dressing was good. I’d go again and try something else on the menu just to experience the bread again

Hadn’t eaten all day so I did a search to find a place near me I hadn’t tried, and I was surprised I didn’t know about a sandwich shop in an area I’m often in that had such good reviews. The person working recommended three of his favorite sandwiches, because I was having a hard time deciding. I went with the Chicken Bahn Mi and a side salad. I’m not a sandwich person usually, but this is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. It’s obvious they put thought into the ingredients and the combinations of flavors, and follow through into making it. The texture of the bread was perfect, soft and crunchy. Now I have to come back and try every other sandwich they have.

I don’t understand how I haven’t been here before. This Caribbean Pork sandwich and potato salad is the best meal I have had in a while. I will try not go every single week but it will be difficult.

I was hoping to give this place 5 stars, but I was not a fan of the hard crusty bread. The flavor of the Bahn mi was good, not as flavorful as expected, but tasty. They toast the entire bun, so the top is crunchy… which equals hard on the roof of your mouth and messy. The Italian sandwich was same, nice flavor, but not a fan of the bread. People raved about the potato salad, but I was not prepared. It’s not a traditional mustard based, it’s super duper herby. It was okay, but not something I’d order again. Not a bad place at all, just unsure what the hype is about. Place is small, not a lot of seating, and it did take a bit to get our order. We tried the stubborn sodas, and they were lacking in syrup and were mostly carbonation, so we tossed it out. If you like super crusty bread, give it a try. It’s a good sandwich, just not my preference.

Started working downtown and decided to try this place out since it’s close, but the sandwich I got (Turkey & Bacon) was filling and tasted great! It was quick and easy to get my order. Place is a bit small but clean and the staff that was there was very nice and friendly! Definitely going back again and may try a different sandwich!

The chicken bahn mi is delicious! I don’t typically get chicken sandwiches but this is a popular item for Don & Charly’s. I am glad that I had it. The chicken was tender and juicy like I have never had in a chicken sandwich before! Then salad is a side option! It was nice to have a side salad without an up charge over chips!
Great lunch spot downtown!
