We picked this unassuming restaurant for breakfast on our way through Kanab based solely on google reviews. It did not disappoint! Food was delicious and the salsa/toppings bar was impressive….particularly for an early morning! Tables and restrooms were clean, and the salsa/toppings bar was obviously properly chilled. If you’re looking for a fancy full-service restaurant, this isn’t for you. If you want good food, portions (note the size of the plate of Chilaquiles vs the size of the standard tray), prices, and a whole host of salsas, do not skip this gem.

Had a great experience at Don Betos with my family. Food was excellent (crispy tacos & chips + very tasty guacamole!) and fast food service with no wait to order. Staff was polite and helpful, will definitely visit again!

We ordered the shrimp and the grilled fish plates, and I definitely recommend it to anyone stopping by! Very well seasoned, and the portions are properly sized!
The atmosphere is cute, with traditional Latino music and colors. Such a cute spot to eat at!

The woman working the front counter is a WonderWoman! I watched her work as she handles the drive through, taking phone orders, taking the walk in’s, packing the to go orders, and serving all the food to the tables…. Amazed!!!

We were in town for a few days vacationing. Don Betos wasn’t our first choice as I was expecting a Betos type fast food place. For one reason or another, we ended up at Don Betos, and we’re not disappointed. This place serves delicious sit-down Mexican but from a direct order counter. Super clean place with an incredible menu and staff. I was surprised to see Milanesas on the menu (one of my favorite dishes from Argentina), and it was huge and super tasty. The rest of the family ordered various other items from the menu, and it was all really good. They also have a great salsa bar, and I even enjoyed a complimentary cup of spicy frijoles. We liked this place so much, we came back again the next day. Thank you, Don Betos, we will back hopefully sooner than later.

UPDATE: We passed through Kanab on the way to the PNW on 4th July 2025. If anything, we liked Don Beto’s even more this time. If only we could find the equivalent in Tucson!
Really nice people and huge portions of tasty Mexican standards (including breakfast items all day). As far as prepared food goes, this is the bargain spot of Kanab. We ended eating dinner here two of the four nights we were in town. It was also within easy walking distance of the La Quinta where we stayed.

I recently visited Don Beto’s in Kanab, Utah, and had a great experience. The restaurant offers a casual, counter-ordering style, which keeps things efficient. I ordered the birria platter and steak fajitas, and both dishes were excellent.
The birria platter was rich and flavorful, with tender, slow-cooked beef in a savory broth that packed a punch of spices. The side of rice and beans complemented the dish perfectly. The steak fajitas were equally impressive, with perfectly grilled steak, fresh vegetables, and sizzling when they arrived. The tortillas were warm and soft, adding to the overall enjoyment.
Service was quick and friendly, which was much appreciated, especially after a long day of exploring the area. For a no-frills, delicious meal in Kanab, Don Beto’s is a great choice.

Great Mexican street food, affordable, unpretentious, bright and spotlessly clean. The staff was cheerful and welcoming. I was hungry for a pork green chili burro which was not on the menu. They were able to accommodate my request with no problem. My partner had a carne asada burrito that was equally fabulous! The tortillas are made in house, chewy and delicious! Great salsa bar with a bonus hot pot of spicy pinto beans. Highly recommended!

Dom Beto’s had some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had hands down. I had a carne asada with rice, picó de gallo, and aguacate! I accompanied this meal with a delicious pineapple juice. Don Beto’s is a very clean establishment with great service would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!
