Reviews
The waitress was kind and fast at taking orders.
The food was good. We tried Tokyo rolls which were amazing. The sushi dishes were so delicious.
We had mochi at the end but I’m not sure it was the traditional type of mochi. It is supposed to be chewy and soft.
Overall we liked the place and will come back later.
The sunomono salad app came from the kitchen with no seasoning or dressing of any kind; considering it took 15 minutes to arrive, this makes absolutely no sense. The rice in the rolls is very mushi and is not properly seasoned sushi rice.
Chicken in the yakisoba was dry and not well seasoned or sauced which is a shame because the noodles were okay. The whitefish in the whitefish teriyaki had no teriyaki flavor and was completely underseasoned while the teppanyaki calamari was not, in fact, calamari.
What they are representing as calamari in this dish is actually stingray or some other protein (false advertising). The portions for an AYCE style service are ungodly huge and after having been served 6 courses there is nothing that I had which I would choose to come back for. Also, a server was drinking from an uncovered glass while standing in front of the sushi line and talking with the sushi chef (food safety code violation).
Soy garlic wings: well seasoned, crispy and enough kick
Monkey brain: deep fried goodness while keeping the fresh ingredients non-greasy
Ahi tower: California + tuna roll, 5x upsized (feeds 2).
Pepper tuna tataki: Good but light on taste
Sashimi: recommend the yellowtail and unagi…the rest are standard.
Big hero roll: generous on the tuna filling and topping.
Hand roll: rice to ratio is too much; go for the sashimi instead.
Teppanyaki: flavourful but greasy.
Teriyaki: taste similar to the teppanyaki, sans the usual sweet taste; a tad too greasy.
Ice cream mochi: standard; chocolate FTW.
Ice cream: blue bell vanilla; hard to go wrong.
Tip: with the more expensive AYCE option, you get to skip the rice on most items…just remember to mention it to waitress.
Try it before this gets crowded.
We tried a spicy tuna poke bowl, which honestly could have been excellent if it wasn’t drowning with sesame dressing.
The gyoza were excellent.
Miso soup was super yummy.
Wings were also good.
