Some of the best sushi I have literally ever had. I have had expensive sushi, sushi in Japan, tons of omekase in nyc and I am a harsh critic and I love this. The owners are so kind and sweet: the chef is super creative. The fish is extremely fresh. It is a privilege to eat here. We’ve been coming here for four years and every time we come back we love it more! JUST GO

This place is a gem! Service is fantastic, the atmosphere was very comfortable and intimate yet fun. There’s only a small group at omakase with you 🙂 And the food… it feels like the chefs are creating art in front of you. A beautiful experience!

This was my first Omakase experience, so I don’t have much to compare it to. I felt that the service from everyone involved was incredible and felt right at home. The fish was incredible and probably the best I’ve had personally.

However, some of the sushi was unnecessarily complicated. I felt like several of the pieces had way too many ingredients, and they didn’t always seem to go super well together. In certain instances one ingredient significantly dominated the palate, at times completely masking the flavor of the fish.

There were also 2 or 3 pieces which were excessively heavy on the wasabi and soy sauce. It seemed as though every piece had at least a little bit, however there were a couple which definitely had too much. And again, it didn’t seem necessary. When I could taste the fish, it tasted great, right before the saltiness of the soy sauce overwhelmed the flavor.

Overall a great experience and I would go back.

One of the best omakases I’ve had, ever. Each course (we did the Sumo 21 course) was unique, fresh, and delicious. The owners (husband and wife) were friendly and attentive. If you’re new to omakase, or even if you’ve been to many, this is a really solid and hidden gem option. The price point is also extremely fair. Highly recommend.

Pure work of art.

Did my brief research online for a nice omakase place for birthday and with most other places having polarized reviews, Domo proved to shine! So glad we made it here. All the sushi were a delight to the palate and the fish just melts in your mouth. The menu left us craving nothing but more.

I also really appreciate the space! Big congrats to the chef’s recent relocation. The new space has a simple minimal touch without any over decoration.

If you’re a sushi enthusiast and looking for an exceptional omakase experience in New York, Domo Omakase is definitely a place to consider. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm, minimalist ambiance that sets the stage for the high-quality dining experience ahead.

The chef’s tasting menu is the star of the show. Each dish is crafted with precision, showcasing the freshest fish and seasonal ingredients. The presentation is immaculate, with delicate plating that enhances the visual and sensory experience.

One of the standout features of Domo Omakase is the personalized touch from the chef. The small, intimate setting allows for a unique experience where the chef explains each dish, giving a deeper appreciation of the ingredients and the artistry behind each bite. It truly feels like a journey through the flavors and textures of Japan.

The staff is attentive and friendly, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and hospitality. i really enjoy the conversation with the chef, and the wife(Don’t skip on the dessert the homemade matcha cotta that she handmade is amazing!!!!)

However, one thing to note is that Domo Omakase is on the pricier side, as is typical for high-end omakase experiences. But given the quality of the food, the intimate setting, and the level of service, it’s an investment for those looking to experience sushi at its finest.

Overall, Domo Omakase offers an unforgettable dining experience in the heart of New York. Whether you’re a seasoned sushi lover or new to omakase, this spot is a must-try for anyone looking to indulge in high-end sushi. I’m really happy, I was finally able to visit this spot since I couldn’t make it to their chinatown location.

My wife surprised me for my birthday and took me here. She had gone to the Chinatown stall earlier this year with friends and raved about it. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was incredible. The chef and his associate took great care of us and we had an amazing experience. The value of what you get based on what you pay is hard to beat. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Chinatown: BYOB:)

Domo Sushi, located in a Chinatown food court, is a pleasant surprise. It’s run by an experienced chef with 40 years in the field and this spot is his latest and last venture.

We tried the Omakase upgraded option and it was impressive. The sushi was expertly crafted with a variety of complex flavors that highlighted the chef’s vast experience. The crab, uni, and scallop sourced from Hokkaido were notably fresh and delicious, adding a memorable taste of the sea to our meal.

A unique touch was the inclusion of caviar, truffle and chutoro which added a nice depth to the overall flavor profile. The Omakase experience was fulfilling, reflecting a balance of traditional sushi making techniques and the chef’s personal flair.

Domo Sushi delivers a top-notch sushi experience in an unexpected location with reasonable price range. It’s proof that great food can come from the most unassuming places, a testament to the chef’s mastery. A hidden gem indeed!

Hidden gem! Walk into the food court to find this unsuspecting omakase spot.

The couple that runs the place deserves the world. They are talented and humble hosts.

5 seats available for the omakase experience. For lunch you should be able to walk in. Dinner I would call ahead.
