While we waited in the lobby, we watched the employees casually sit there and eat the pizza they had messed up while preparing the replacement. Meanwhile, the rest of our order was already finished and sitting on the counter getting cold. The replacement pizza took about 15 minutes, and no one bothered to tell us when it was actually ready. We eventually had to ask for it ourselves despite standing right there in the lobby the entire time.
Because of the delay, the rest of the food suffered. By the time we got home, the tater tots were stone cold and didn’t reheat well, so they ended up in the trash.
What made the experience worse was the attitude. The staff showed little sense of urgency or courtesy, even though the delay was due to their mistake. A simple apology, communication about the wait, or even making sure the rest of the order stayed warm would have gone a long way.
Unfortunately, this was poor service from start to finish. I would not recommend this Domino’s location. If you’re in the area, you’re better off going a few blocks away to Coconut Kenny’s where the service is better and the food is warm.
Normally I don’t like Domino’s pizza but Alvin made sure my pizza was made with extra love mmmmmmm so yummy. When I said I couldn’t afford a tip he gave me the extra cash in his wallet and said “pay it forward” so I used it to buy cigarettes and gave a dart to a homeless woman.
Alvin is a fantastic employee with passion for his craft, an unwaivering spirit, a light in the community, a humble young man who will stop at nothing to get the job done. I hope his boss recognizes all the work he does, his commitment has touched not only me but I’m sure everyone that has had the privilege of his presence has been touched deeply. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
They also hold the title of the best dominos in the region (I asked what the region included, it’s Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington). The competition (for best dominos) was discontinued between the regional dominos because this one won too many times in a row.
I agree. They deserve it.
