We decided to place our order at the Mission St. store instead of holding true to the Clares St. store and our order was typical for us: a pair of hand-tossed medium pies with three toppings on each and cut into squares. All specified in our online order. How wrong could our choice be?
Our pies were neither on hand-tossed crusts nor were they cut into squares. This may seem trivial, but if you understand that we only order from Domino’s when we are babysitting, it would make sense. (We are feeding the kids!)
Calling the store (and we have called three different times!) to ask them to make good on their errors has been an exercise in futility; management has never addressed our issue. The one time I was able to hold a phone conversation with anyone at the store they only delivered a string of excuses and never followed through on their promises to alert management to our concerns and have them take responsibility for their mistakes.
We have learned our lesson on the very first time we deviated from the norm and tonight we are calling Clares Street because our voices are loudest when we speak with our dollars and sense. We wish the Mission St. store the best of luck.

And if you want to bother someone about this, please email the city of Santa Cruz and give them a hard time about the hypocrisy of wanting the city to have a local-business, small-town vibe while also approving a corporate pizza chain when a small business just opened down the street. It’s great to have options but it makes no sense to have 2 pizza places so close to each other.
The new location is a complete 180. I was blown away. The staff was super friendly, the kitchen looked spotless, and the pizza was perfect. I ordered a large New York–Style pepperoni, and it came out exactly as it should: thin, crisp, leopard-spotted on the bottom, no flop, and great crunch on the crust. Easily one of the best chain-pizza experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Domino’s has been my favorite chain pizza my whole life, and I’m so, so stoked to have a reliable, affordable option on the West Side of Santa Cruz again. Huge improvement, and I’m excited to order another pie soon. Shout out to the staff
