In short: Food was good, not mind blowing for the price. Awesome service from the server and very attentive.

Duck breast with confit and pomegranate: prepared perfectly, tasty, and a good match with the pomegranate and potatoes. I think a little bit more salt would have helped the dish but overall it was good but not mind blowing for a duck dish for me. 7.2/10

Salmon: Can’t really mess up salmon but this was something I feel I could whip up at home. The salmon could have been maybe a tad bit more undercooked, as I felt this was maybe 30-60 seconds cooked a bit longer. I didn’t feel the sauce complimented or enhanced the flavor of the salmon. It did however help the flavor of the cauliflower.

Halibut potato soup: great texture and great flavor. Could have used a dash more of salt to enhance the flavors a bit more.

Highly recommended Domaćin! My fiance and I went here to celebrate our engagement and it was so perfect. They weren’t very busy that evening and they surprised us by seating us in the private wine cellar to make it extra special. We had the scallops, steak tartare, lobster pasta and the duck breast. Our server gave us an excellent wine recommendation to pair with our meal and I’m still thinking about how wonderful everything was! Make sure you get the scallops when you go! The duck breast had a lot of flavors going on and they melded together perfectly. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

We visited for our anniversary and had a wine pairing, four course dinner. The server never asked us about what type of food we’d like/not like, only if we had any food allergies. When the first course was brought it was NOT something we’d ever eat. We had expected to be given options of what we’d like to eat. We indicated that we didn’t care for what was being served they got very defensive. The rest of the dinner service was then strained. The rest of food was delicious and we enjoyed it.

We felt the tables were all way to close together. There was a group of four seated next to us and we couldn’t even have a conversation together without them over hearing us as we heard everything they were saying. We thought it would be a nice, intimate dinner, but not with the seating there.

For the price we paid it absolutely was not worth it, even though the food was good. There aren’t any good photo’s of the food because it was too dark in there to get decent ones without using flash (which is rude in my opinion to other diners).

Would we go back? Probably not just due to the attitude of the server and the seating. The food was great.

I could not have been more elated to celebrate my birthday at this fabulous five-star venue! Owner Aleks was beyond gracious in sharing a seat, generous time, and a fabulous bottle of bubbles with our dinner party. Server Savannah was delightful and on point with stellar service. The charcuterie and French Billecart Salmon champagne were delectable starters; and the halibut and beef tenderloin paired perfectly with Nappa Valley’s Stags Leap District Pine Ridge wine…just simply divine! I aspire to be a returning patron for this great one!

To Domecin management, and really any wait staff or leader of any service business: an “I’m or we’re sorry that happened” and just a smidge of humility, goes such a long way with a customer!

Prior to 2-14-26, we’ve enjoyed every trip to this restaurant. Good food, and good service. We had a 6pm reservation on Valentine’s day, showed up on time, and the reservation host said they were busy and our table wasn’t ready. She directed us to a wine tasting area in back to wait for our table. After 20 minutes, she was wandering around the wine tasting area asking for “Tristina”. She found no one.

Shortly after I went to see her, said we’d been waiting more than 25 minutes. She said shortly after we came in, another person named “Katherine” (my wife’s name), came in and claimed the table. I said, “so what do you want to do?” She said we have a table right now, I said I must go get my wife.

We came back, once there, the hostess stormed off with menus in hand, saying nothing to us. We looked around like, “ok, I guess we follow”. She put the menus down and left. As we sat down, she came back and slammed down waters so hard we jumped and again said nothing and scurried off. We looked at each other like “I guess it’s our fault she totally forgot about us.”

All we wanted was for her to say something like, “geez, we’re really busy, I’m sorry we lost track of you.” I chalked it up to her being young and immature. Later, I spoke with the manager, he dismissed my feedback, said the system crashed and ALSO couldn’t come up with “sorry that happened.”

Yes, at most restaurants they would have apologized and offered a free glass of wine or desert or whatever. All they had to do was say “we’re sorry.” But they couldn’t do it.

Then, my wife posted a google review and the manager replied and UTTERLY LIED that the hostess apologized profusely. She did nothing of the kind, and she wasn’t even there when I spoke to the manager.

We’re sorry to lose a restaurant we liked. Domecin’ should be embarrassed to let such a small thing trash a customer relationship. The 17-year old hostess gets a pass, but the adult manager who lied in the review and could not come up with “I’m sorry” should be embarrassed. I apologize if I’m 10 minutes late for a reservation. Own your stuff! It’s not that hard.

Great restaurant. In the winter it’s dark and cozy. In the summer it’s bright and offers outdoor seating. The wine list and attached retail wine shop attached to the restaurant offers specially curated, rare finds by the owner, Aleks, who is an expert wine connoisseur.

Came in for dinner a few weeks ago and had a great experience. Our server was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. The scallops were perfectly seared, the duck breast was full of flavor, and the capellini was solid. I would also recommend the panna cotta for dessert.

We arrived for our reservation on Valentine’s Day and were told that our table was not yet ready. The hostess told us we could wait in the lounge and she would come find us. We waiting quite a while and finally the hostess came into the lounge, but she was looking for someone else, so we continued to wait. She came back looking for the same individual, and my husband gave her the name of our party, but she looked bewildered. Finally, after about 45 minutes, my husband went up to the hostess stand to find out how much longer we’d have to wait. The hostess informed him that another patron had come in with the same name and she gave our table to them. She said she’d “find” us a table, so my husband came back to the lounge to get me. When we arrived at the hostess stand, the hostess didn’t apologize and was instead rude and seemed angry with US, like it was our fault she completely screwed up our reservation. She stormed off, and we looked at the employee behind her (turns out it was the manager) and asked him if we were supposed to follow her, which we did. She then filled our waters and slammed the glasses down on the table so hard I jumped. Later in the evening, my husband spoke with the manager and told him what had happened. He acknowledged the hostess was quite young and they had a reservation system “glitch,” but no apology. No recognition that they had us waiting for nearly an hour for a table they ended up giving away. We weren’t looking for a meal comp or anything, but a simple apology from ANYONE would have been nice. The measure of a great restaurant isn’t just the food, it’s how they make their customers feel and how they treat them. We felt very unwelcome at Domacin. We have been here many times over the years, but we will not be back. There are way too many other restaurants who know how to treat their guests well.

How many more of these gems are there in Stillwater? So many options for great food and drinks!

A friend recommended Domacin to us because we love wine and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. There is a strong viticulture theme obviously but besides the outstanding wines by the glass you notice the decor with many large format bottles on display and also the stemware they serve wine in is beautiful and top quality.

The menu is a little small for entrees but the duck I had was one of the best duck I’ve ever tasted. The meat and cheese board was also delicious and you get a lot of food.

Can’t wait to return in warm weather and sit on their patio.

May 2024: Well, I learned tonight that they change the menu. So the delicious duck I had last time was totally different tonight. I was unhappy with it. Still love the restaurant, the wine decor, the patio, and great service.
