Duck breast with confit and pomegranate: prepared perfectly, tasty, and a good match with the pomegranate and potatoes. I think a little bit more salt would have helped the dish but overall it was good but not mind blowing for a duck dish for me. 7.2/10
Salmon: Can’t really mess up salmon but this was something I feel I could whip up at home. The salmon could have been maybe a tad bit more undercooked, as I felt this was maybe 30-60 seconds cooked a bit longer. I didn’t feel the sauce complimented or enhanced the flavor of the salmon. It did however help the flavor of the cauliflower.
Halibut potato soup: great texture and great flavor. Could have used a dash more of salt to enhance the flavors a bit more.
We felt the tables were all way to close together. There was a group of four seated next to us and we couldn’t even have a conversation together without them over hearing us as we heard everything they were saying. We thought it would be a nice, intimate dinner, but not with the seating there.
For the price we paid it absolutely was not worth it, even though the food was good. There aren’t any good photo’s of the food because it was too dark in there to get decent ones without using flash (which is rude in my opinion to other diners).
Would we go back? Probably not just due to the attitude of the server and the seating. The food was great.
Prior to 2-14-26, we’ve enjoyed every trip to this restaurant. Good food, and good service. We had a 6pm reservation on Valentine’s day, showed up on time, and the reservation host said they were busy and our table wasn’t ready. She directed us to a wine tasting area in back to wait for our table. After 20 minutes, she was wandering around the wine tasting area asking for “Tristina”. She found no one.
Shortly after I went to see her, said we’d been waiting more than 25 minutes. She said shortly after we came in, another person named “Katherine” (my wife’s name), came in and claimed the table. I said, “so what do you want to do?” She said we have a table right now, I said I must go get my wife.
We came back, once there, the hostess stormed off with menus in hand, saying nothing to us. We looked around like, “ok, I guess we follow”. She put the menus down and left. As we sat down, she came back and slammed down waters so hard we jumped and again said nothing and scurried off. We looked at each other like “I guess it’s our fault she totally forgot about us.”
All we wanted was for her to say something like, “geez, we’re really busy, I’m sorry we lost track of you.” I chalked it up to her being young and immature. Later, I spoke with the manager, he dismissed my feedback, said the system crashed and ALSO couldn’t come up with “sorry that happened.”
Yes, at most restaurants they would have apologized and offered a free glass of wine or desert or whatever. All they had to do was say “we’re sorry.” But they couldn’t do it.
Then, my wife posted a google review and the manager replied and UTTERLY LIED that the hostess apologized profusely. She did nothing of the kind, and she wasn’t even there when I spoke to the manager.
We’re sorry to lose a restaurant we liked. Domecin’ should be embarrassed to let such a small thing trash a customer relationship. The 17-year old hostess gets a pass, but the adult manager who lied in the review and could not come up with “I’m sorry” should be embarrassed. I apologize if I’m 10 minutes late for a reservation. Own your stuff! It’s not that hard.
A friend recommended Domacin to us because we love wine and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. There is a strong viticulture theme obviously but besides the outstanding wines by the glass you notice the decor with many large format bottles on display and also the stemware they serve wine in is beautiful and top quality.
The menu is a little small for entrees but the duck I had was one of the best duck I’ve ever tasted. The meat and cheese board was also delicious and you get a lot of food.
Can’t wait to return in warm weather and sit on their patio.
May 2024: Well, I learned tonight that they change the menu. So the delicious duck I had last time was totally different tonight. I was unhappy with it. Still love the restaurant, the wine decor, the patio, and great service.
So good
Stop in for wine and dinner and you will not be disappointed
