My wife and I had to go check on some shirts for a fundraiser for the CF Foundation in Vandergrift. We don’t get to many mornings to spend together out and about with the way we both work. My wife has been hearing about Dolly’s and how good everyone says it is. I knew of this building when it was further down the street and witnessed its move to where it is now. I have been driving by this place myself on my way to and from work for almost 10 years…but have never stopped. Well, this was the place we picked and we were both happy with that decision. I haven’t been in a diner like this since one kind of similar was on 422 down at the Jefferson St exit in Butler before the hospital built the new extension, and that has been quite a lot of years. Our waitress was very attentive and probably stopped by at least four times during our meal to see if we needed anything else. The food was nice sized portions and good. The Rye bread with my meal was on point! Thick slices of marble rye went perfectly with my country fried steak. My wife got a breakfast sandwich and home fries. We left full and satisfied. Would definitely recommend!

The cutest little diner in Apollo. Felt straight out of a movie. They have so many options on the menu but we went with the tv dinner. It came on a tray with chicken tenders, fries, applesauce, vegetable, and a brownie. They were flexible with you changing your sides. The food was delicious and the root beer was even better!

My friend saw Dolly’s on Pittsburgh Today Live, so when we found ourselves hungry in the area we stopped. We both enjoyed our meals, the decor, and the vibe.

Such an adorable diner, clearly so well loved by the community! Great service, super customizable menu, spot-on nostalgic atmosphere, very fair prices. The staff was kind and happy to answer any and all questions, I’d absolutely recommend checking this place out (and reading up on their history!) We’ll definitely be back

Appetizers were good, dinner was not. I asked for no gravy on the steak. I had to ask for it to be remade instead of our server offering. Once it was remade there was some type of liquid or goo on it which made me lose my appetite, literally looked like it was spit on. On top of that the entire time our server had the most wicked attitude, especially when asked for things. We came for a bday dinner and she was rude to everyone. She needs an attitude check. Won’t come back there again.

It was great to find a place in the middle of nowhere that had gluten free bread and buns. I had a burger and a few bites of my husband’s club and didn’t have any reaction. I told the waitress it was an allergy.

Edit-7-27-2025 My husband and I came here for breakfast today. Completely changed my mind. Maybe it’s the time of day or food selections that made it better. Our waitress was fantastic and she was rather busy also. Breakfast was delicious and devoured the hot turkey sandwich with mashed.
Edit- Came back with my son and was again disappointed by the quality of the food vs the bill. $58 for 2 burgers, 2 shakes and 2 fries….really….never again.
I was so excited to try this new little spot, who doesn’t love the vibe of a 1950s diner. It was a little busy but the whole bar area was empty and 3 booths were open. There was one waitress whom I asked “can we sit at the bar” she replies “Yes”. We happily sit and become excited about what to order. We take in our surroundings and notice the milkshake machines. UUUMMM 2 please! At this point it had been about 10 mins okay nothing major but have not been offered menus or drinks. After about 7 more minutes I find the right moment and politely ask for menus and she kindly gave us them. Another waitress starts the shift and asks us what we’d like to drink and of course we order milkshakes! They are very delicious and will definitely order again! We chatted and giggled slurping up the sweet goodness for about 20 min. We enjoyed our time together but were rather hungry too. I again motion to the waitress and ask to order. Again they are very polite and take our order, I go for the play on a big mac with a side of fresh cut fries and coleslaw, my daughter orders a crispy chicken sandwich with fresh cut fries and coleslaw. Another 30 minutes goes by and our food arrives. First the coleslaw, I salt and pepper for flavor and take a juicy spoonful,I instantly think “eww that has zero flavor “. I push it aside because we are now handed our meals, the dishes heaping with beautiful fresh cut fries and our sandwiches. I snatch up that Heinz 57 and plop it on my fries, they were as good as they looked. I chased the first steamy mouthful with some sugary chocolate shake. I was pretty happy and excited to taste that juicy burger with the “special sauce”. I take a big bite and think “okay, okay, it’s a buger”, I go in for a follow-up bite and get hit with an over powering taste of onion. I look and there is a rather thick slice of solid onion, every ring from inside out in the dead middle of my burger. Well that’s not great, if I wanted a slab ‘o’ onion I would have asked for one. I look over at my daughters food and realize her “breaded chicken” sandwich is nothing more then a lame chicken patty…… really…. now is when I get irritated. So long story not so short, the food is mediocre, and not worth the price at all. Will I go back, yes I’d like to try the breakfast menu in hopes it will be better somehow. The strawberry shake us better then the chocolate shake btw.

I love hole in the wall joints and this place didn’t disappoint. Great food at great prices. Got a build your own omelette (up to 5 toppings for $12) It was stuffed full and delicious. I heard the cooks name was Ashley, she does a great job on hash browns too! Crispy! Our server was excellent too. Fast and prompt! Cute little diner. Loved the decor, takes you back to the 50’s. Will definitely return!

Lovely diner, great food and service paired with an exceptionally fair price. Thank you to everyone at Dolly’s Diner for the wonderful breakfast! My omelette was perfect- they even offer dairy-free cheese options! Coffee was hot and plentiful. The poached eggs cooked to perfection. The rye toast was light, thick and buttered well! Thank you!

As a child of the 50’s the atmosphere in Dolly’s brought back fond memories. A true diner from years past, very nostalgic. The service was great and the staff was very pleasant, the menu was definitely what one would expect at a diner and very good. If you’re in the mood for an old fashioned milk shake this is the place to go, just beware, one shake is big enough to serve two!!
