After sitting there for about 10 minutes and listening to one of the other two tables that were in the place complain about waiting 40 min for food we finally ordered. My wife and I both got the classic breakfast. She got fruit and I got hash browns. They brought her fruit from the bar and the grapes were molded and had fuz on them. The waitress came back to tell us that the eggs they had were bad and if we would like something else and that’s when we told them about the moldy fruit and just decided to leave. Was so much better when it was Frisches.

Decided to give them a try a week and a half after opening and probably should’ve waited. The hostess sat us at a table that had food all over it, like someone missed their mouth while eating. She only gave the two of us one silverware and left the table dirty. After 5 minutes some guy came and took our drink order and said the waitress would be by. When he brought the drinks I asked him to get a rag to wipe the table and he did. We waited another 15 minutes and I stopped one of the hosts walking by and they said they’d send the waitress. She took our food order after explaining they were out of a few things and after looking at others she said she wasn’t sure what came with the entrees. We got the food quickly which was nice but the macaroni was ice cold like it was in the fridge and the garlic bread was cold. Overall the waitress seemed overwhelmed despite there being 5-6 waitresses standing around and another 4-5 people at the host stand. It seems like the workers are lacking direction. It was too chaotic and there were too many workers not doing anything. Overall I probably won’t be back at least for a long while.

We were really, really happy with Dollys.
It was clean, plenty of staff, the food was hot & the portions were large.
The same great ice, but they have pepsi now, and the tartar sauce is not Frishes, but everything was really good, so i wasn’t really upset about it. ( You could actually get it in the grocery store and take it with you, LOL)
The table behind us got a hot fudge cake, and it looked so good. I haven’t seen a hot fudge cake from Frishes. Look that good in years.

I want to give our waitress Sandy a big shout out. The attention she gave us was 10 out of 10. She puts a great face on this place. Somehow, I had it in my head that Dolly’s food was supposed to taste like Frisch’s. I ordered the classic burger (the Big Boy replacement, so to speak, and coleslaw). The coleslaw is NOT like Frisch’s coleslaw, but it was ok. The quality and size of the hamburger meat was bigger and better than Frisch’s; unfortunately, the tartar sauce was nothing compared to Frisch’s recipe. The tartar sauce made the burger taste just ok. My husband ordered a fish sandwich (cod) and he said it was ok. He did not like the fries. The chili is not the same recipe either:-( I know the Frisch’s commissary was closed last fall and there is a patent on their tartar sauce recipe (excellent move on Frisch’s part). The location is good and the restaurant was very clean. All and all, Dolly’s food is ok. If you go thinking it is replacing the food you received at Frisch’s, you’ll be very disappointed.

Waitress came around a couple of times then never came back never got beverage that we ordered. Burger took 30+ minutes to get to the table then burger had cheese on it after just ordered it plan. Was never told the buffet came with a drink until the bill came so no drink was ever ordered and you can’t order the buffet without a drink so the cost is $2-$3 more

They were well staffed, cheerful and the place was clean. The breakfast bar and salad bar were very much like Frisch’s had it but it was well supplied and clean. Now let’s get to the food.

The patties on their “Signature Sandwich” (Big Boy) were about what the Frisch’s Super Big Boy was. So no need to order their Super Signature burger like I did. I thought the burgers would just be thicker but no, they added birgers. It had 4 patties which is way too much. Overkill. See accompanied pictures. It took a long time to get our order although the waitress did take our order promptly. When it came it was not very warm and the bread was not fresh. The burger sandwich lacked flavor. I kept wanting to dip it in ketchup just to give it flavor. The onion rings were nothing like Frisch’s. These were quite ordinary, thickly breaded and lacked flavor. They serve Pepsi, not Coke.

My issue is with the food, which ultimately is what this is all about. The food was blah and lacked flavor. I will try Dolly’s one more time, likely for dinner on a slower weeknight, but Cincinnati is going to be underwhelmed with this and they’ll want their Frisch’s back, only this time with better, competent management. I predict the Frisch’s that do manage to open or stay open, will do very well. They have a good product and people will come, if managed competently

I brought my Uncle for his 60th Birthday. Knowing this is not Frischs, we still tried the loaded chili. It was excellent. We also tried the chicken tortilla soup. Yum. Great service!!

The staff is wonderful and did their best. However the owner needs to realize that this restaurant is NOT established well at all. No soup/salad bar, half the food items on the menu couldn’t be made only chicken, burgers and breakfast options. No music to cut out talking and backroom noise and very dim. Didn’t change much of anything inside of old restaurant so nothing unique or original about it, just looks like a cheap knock off of Friches. Hope it gets better or the owner goes out of their way to get these good employees better jobs.

The food was great! The menu was bigger than i thought it would be! The staff actually seem like they want to be their compared to what and who was here before! Ticket time was even great! Nobody is perfect so I’m not gonna complain about the little things! They are doing a good job!
