So first impressions it’s really small. I’m used to Petros having their own full restaurants, but this one is basically just a little corner spot. I’m sure they had to downsize because there are other fast-food options in the same building, which I get.
As for the food, I agree with some of the other reviews—the prices are a bit steep for what you get, depending on who you ask. Otherwise, the service was friendly. I’d only recommend it if you’re specifically wanting something that isn’t fast food.

Review 1: Tortellini with Alfredo Sauce & Chicken

Honestly, this was a huge letdown. I ordered the tortellini with Alfredo and chicken, and it came out cold — not even lukewarm. The Alfredo sauce had a weird, almost sweet or off taste — definitely not your classic creamy, cheesy flavor. The chicken was dry and clearly just thrown on top without any effort. For the price, I expected way better. Felt like a microwave meal from the grocery store, and even those might taste better.

This was supposed to be nachos for $16.99 and it was just a pile of dry chips with barely any meat or cheese. No real flavor, no proper layering, and the cheese looked like it was just smeared on a few chips with no care. They tossed in two random slices of toast like they were trying to fill the plate. For almost $17, this was a joke. Complete ripoff.

I paid $38 for two dishes and left completely disappointed. Cold food, poor quality, and definitely not worth the price. Would not recommend this place unless you’re okay with paying a lot for very little.

Typical place it’s great for truckers like us. Specifically in a stressful day. Very rare truck stop to have a bar inside. So we love it. Love that tomato soup with grilled cheese. My husband like his hamburger to. Nick did a great job.

Great location for a quick bite to eat. I was in town for work and had about 45 minutes to eat and get back to the hotel. I was able to order, eat and have a good conversation in about 40 minutes. I was treated to a wonderful Elk burger. I was also impressed to see they also had bison burgers on the menu. The resturant is located within a truck stop rest area. Very nice stop for any logistics professionals, anyone staying at a local hotel, or passing by the location!

This is the place to go for a comfort meal! All the food we ordered was flavorful and cooked well. The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was calm. They had lots of televisions broadcasting different channels which gave us something to talk about while we waited for our food.

OMG! My wife had the grilled pork chops and she said they were really good. I just had the Ribeye Whiskey Steak, and it was THE BEST STEAK EVER! I’ve traveled all over the world as an Aviator, to include Colombia and Guatemala, and I not only grew up near a cattle ranch but first learned real grilling at a steak house, so I know a little bit about steaks. I’ve eaten steaks everywhere, and after retiring from the airlines I drive my own rig across the USA. What a surprise to find Dolly Down, with terrific food and very polite, fast service! We have to come back here again! And for you other truckers, it’s at the Fargo Petro with 190 parking spots. Great place for a 34!

I was hesitant to order the elk burger from this restaurant and I do regret ordering it. Elk is supposed to be very flavorful but this thin burger had no flavor. I don’t eat onions typically but I needed that plus ketchup to make the burger not a dry disappointment. The crispy fries were delicious and sprinkled with a decent amount of seasoning. Honestly the highlight was my waitress.

It’s a restaurant at a truck stop. The place is small only a counter and a few tables and there are several TV’s to watch. Seating usually easy to find never had to wait there. The food very homemade tasting. The service fast and overall a great place to visit have a meal. There’s a lot of variety on the menu and it’s always a surprise what’s their special.

So glad they kept some sort of Restaurant beside fast food here at Petro! Great decor, Decent food and good service. Wasnt able to indulge in Beverages, being a Driver passing thru, but looked amazing for locals and other drivers on reset!

The food is amazing here. The fries were my favorite type – battered and crispy. The burger itself had such a fantastic crust on it as well. I would totally stop by here again when I’m in town.
