Reviews
20 minutes. I ordered #1 and #4, a side of poutine, and a side of cheese curds. Total was $29.92
Upon arrival 20 minutes later, there were a few people inside the building, and I waited about 5 minutes before a gentleman called my name to say it was ready. SWEET!
Despite the woman on the phone asking what I wanted to drink, they gave me empty cups to fill at the drink station. – No big deal, however keep this in mind. You may also want to bring an extra set of hands as there were no drink carriers available.
Overall, food was quite salty, messy and a bit pricey for portions received.
Fries- Cold upon arriving home, which is about 6 minutes from the restaurant. Very salty so keep this in mind if you have concerns about salt contents. They were however delicious, despite the high levels of salt and needing to be microwaved for temperature. Portions were much smaller than expected.
Cheese curds- also much smaller portion than expected, salty and cold. Flavor was kind of plain.
Coney’s- a bit heavy on the mustard, hot dogs have a snap, and bonus points for being a Detroit style coney, as no other restaurant around here knows Coneys. These are my preferred Coneys.
Poutine- Salty. Gravy is similar to a salty version of Heinz Homestyle beef gravy that comes in a jar. I like this kind of gravy, however some may not.
Double Doll n Burger Deluxe- Messy. The doll sauce is hard to explain, maybe why there is no description on the already very limited menu. The size is comparable to a BK double cheese, or a smaller steak and shake burger. My husband has an aversion to tomatoes and I wish the menu gave a description of what came on it. The Double Doll deluxe has 2 tomatoes on it.
Over all, this restaurant in Jackson is a nice change, however I am not certain that it will be around long. Food is Okay, nothing spectacular, very salty. I am hoping that a second visit to the restaurant in the future, when COVID is a thing of the past, will help with food temperatures and freshness.
Interior of the restaurant looks nice and clean, and the staff wear similar hats to steak and shake employees.
I should have taken pictures when the food was brought out BUT this shows what was left..barely anything (fries) the burgers are pretty filling!
Bacon burger, spicy chicken sandwich, kids cheeseburgers and a grilled cheese sandwich. I’m going to pop!!!
Thank you
First off, don’t go through the drive-thru if you aren’t prepared to wait a few minutes. The food isn’t sitting under a heat lamp like at a burger king. It is actually made to order from real ingredients.
Your patience will be rewarded with one of the best tasting burgers(or any other item really) around.
Backing out of the line really hurts the resturant, so don’t do that. Just go eat inside, it’s super cool in there!
We live rather far away from this place, but every so often, we get the craving, and make the drive.
The chicken sandwiches are well cooked, golden brown, and so flavorful. I love the crispy breading.
The burgers are amazing. Ground in store, cheasy and delicious. Just the right fat content.
The fish sandwiches…. I would have never thought coleslaw would be good on fish, but once again, you nailed it. What an amazing fish sandwich. Crispy and delicious, really good tarter sauce.
Those fries. Guys…. the fries.
They double cook them with some sort of kitchen wizardry…. we do not understand, but we faithfully return for the fries. They are absolutely amazing.
We are thin, athletic people, but we dug deep and polished off a chicken sandwich and a burger each, plus a large fry to split. Anywhere else, I would have felt terrible after all that, but this food makes me feel so good. Thanks for using real local food.
So. In conclusion, you must come here, the food is amazing. Eat inside, don’t go through the drive through, you deserve it.
Thanks to the staff, you guys are Rockstars.
