Founded by sisters Larinda Carr and Julie Hawkes, alongside Chef David Oldham — lovingly known as “Dave the Cook” — our mission is to bring people together over classic American breakfasts crafted with heart and heritage. Located on the ground floor of the American Legion building, D’Oldhams is a tribute to the values we hold dear: community, gratitude, and a shared love of good food. Having spent years volunteering and supporting the American Legion, we’re proud to serve those who’ve served — and everyone who walks through our doors — with warmth, respect, and a heaping plate of comfort.

What a wonderful addition to Birch Bay! This newer breakfast/lunch spot inside the American Legion building has quickly become a local favorite.
The sister-owned business truly feels like a blessing for our community.
The food is outstanding— fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care— and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality you receive. The atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.
The staff is attentive, friendly, and impressively efficient at getting orders entered and out to guests without a hitch. You can tell they take pride in what they do.
I highly recommend this stellar establishment to locals and visitors alike!

New breakfast spot inside the American Legion clubhouse in Birch Bay. Cool use of the space with woodwork and nice décor. Menu’s priced right, and the food came out hot and tasty.
I’m picky about breakfast (I cook better than most places), but the cook here knows what they’re doing. Eggs Benedict were spot on—light hollandaise, eggs just right. Hash browns had a soft center without being burnt. My friend had the classic breakfast—also excellent. Coffee was good too, hot and smooth without the bitter taste you get at a lot of places.
Honestly, a great surprise—way better than most breakfast places I’ve been to in years.

Ordered the Epic Omelette with the crumpet upgrade for takeout to eat down by the water.
Omelette was bursting with toppings and the hollandaise especially stood out. The crumpet was nicely browned with a great springy texture… Very nice.

Accidental find, what luck! Service is the friendliest I’ve experienced in a long time. Food was fantastic, I had the hands-down best poached egg I’ve ever had.

Very tender steak, seasoned very well with the mushrooms and cheese both very well paired! And you are right. Perfect egg. The potatoes are not soggy, but still moist and have texture. Best breakfast food I’ve had in ages!!! I was even excited to try the jam and toast, and the jam toast was indeed tasty. The meal was awesome. The portion was perfect sized as well. All around agree with the 5star reviews!

Fantastic food. I had the ny steak and eggs. Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. My friend had the philly steak omelett, which she raved about. Fresh fruit was perfect. The coffee also was great.
