Amazing food, would absolutely recommend and will return. The Garlic beef ramen was so flavourful and filling I will miss it when I leave. The most adorable interior and so many lovely pieces of tableware. Please order the tempura vanilla ice cream!! It’s so good!!

Such a great Japanese restaurant! The food is delicious, the bento sets are super worth it, and the service is excellent. The atmosphere gives a real Japanese vibe — absolutely loved it!

I visited this restaurant with a friend, and the experience was frankly unacceptable.

From the start, there were serious communication issues. I clearly stated that I wanted seafood. I was then asked whether I preferred chicken or pork. I repeated that I wanted fish -for example, salmon or tuna. I also pointed directly at the seafood sets on the menu. Despite this, I was again asked about meat.

It felt as though I simply was not being listened to.

Eventually, the waitress pointed at a set and said, “It includes salmon and comes with miso soup.” That was the entire explanation. No details about ingredients, preparation, or what the dish actually contained. The menu was not written in English, so I had no way of understanding what I was ordering. I was effectively asked to order blindly.

When my friend asked for a box to take her unfinished food away, we had to repeat “box” and “take away” several times and use gestures. We were eventually told, “I will bring you a box, but you will need to pack it yourselves.” That in itself was not an issue. However, this was followed by a comment along the lines of, “We don’t usually do this,” implying that our request was somehow inappropriate, despite simply wanting to take away food we had already paid for.

Even asking for the bill required repeating ourselves more than once, as we were not understood initially.

As for the food:

The baked salmon, which should have been served hot, was cold. The rice was bland and low quality. The stewed fish had an unpleasant taste; after only a few bites I felt nauseous and had to stop eating.

The raw salmon was completely flavourless. A white dish with green beans had a strong, unpleasant fishy smell and was impossible to eat.

The prawns looked questionable and unappetising.

The miso soup was not good either, but compared to everything else on the table, it was the most acceptable item.

On a scale of 1 to 10, the food quality would be a 2.

In fact, the only thing I was able to eat without discomfort was a slice of lemon.

Shortly after leaving the restaurant, I developed severe stomach pain and nausea. While waiting for the bill and later for a taxi, I was genuinely concerned that I might become unwell on the spot. I barely made it home, and my condition worsened afterwards.

My friend also felt ill after eating the fish.

I paid £30 for a meal that failed to meet even basic standards of quality or service. We have serious grounds to suspect food poisoning.

This experience was completely unacceptable.

Absolutely delicious food. The bento set was particularly good, although everything else looks delcious as well. A massive menu. The restaurant is decorated very cutely and was buzzing. The wait staff were quick and efficient.

We booked this resteraunt for our work meal last night, we had the kareoke room, between all of our group we ordered a big variety of different foods and they were all very well priced and so fulfilling. The team loved the atmosphere.

Thank you for the quick service and amazing food.

Tried Dojo for the first time and it was amazing! We had the pork katsu, udon, and ramen—everything was so good. Can’t believe I hadn’t tried this place before! Definitely going back soon

We were extremely disappointed considering the positive online reviews. Food was bland and unappealing. The seared tuna sushi made my partner gag and he was almost sick on the way home. There was orange American cheese plastered to the sushi. The tonkatsu pork was very bland and all of the broths were considerably weak. We completely lost our appetites and left most of the food. The servers were lovely, however, and were very understanding when there was a miscommunication with our order. In terms of service, food arrived very quickly and the staff were lovely. We would not recommend the restaurant on the basis of food quality.

Second time eating in Dojo. The sushi here do not disappoint. They always taste great and fresh. The chef special Maki is worth every penny.
The service and menu are huge letdown, however. The waitstaff barely spoke any English and was not able to recommend any dish for us to try. The menu is battered and does not offer any explanation in what any of the sushi sets contain. When asked, the waitstaff simply said they had no idea.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and a good selection of dishes on its menu.
We ordered the pumpkin croquette and chicken karaage for our starters, and they were both delicious.
However, I ordered the deep-fried tofu and salmon bento set for my main, which was a mistake, and I would not recommend it. The deep-fried salmon is very bland and should normally come with a tonkatsu sauce or something, but there was nothing. I asked a waiter about this, but they were quite dismissive in their attitude and told me that it didn’t need a sauce as it contained cheese inside. The salmon definitely did not contain cheese inside, so I was unimpressed by his condescending and dismissive attitude, especially as I was left to eat a deep fried but otherwise unseasoned, bland salmon.
Having said that, their other dishes did look more delicious, so I would come back to try something different next time.

The food here is delicious. We had a fantastic time, the menu is huge! There’s so much to choose from, I’ll have to return. Really enjoyed the green tea soup – I’d never heard of this, I’ll definitely give it a go thus Autumn, it was so comforting to eat. The staff were nice. It is expensive, but the quality is good and often Japanese food is slightly more pricey.
