This place was so unexpectedly fantastic!! From the food to the drinks and the service, Wow! We were absolutely blown away at how amazing everything was. I would highly recommend checking out this spot, whether you’re a local or traveling!!

I didn’t realize Dogwood Southern Table & Bar was located inside the Westin hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina but what a wonderful surprise! The space is beautiful, with a welcoming atmosphere and a large, lively bar. The standout of the evening was definitely the service—our servers Devin and Grace were absolutely incredible. They were warm, attentive, and gave us excellent recommendations. Even though we ordered a lot for just two people, they managed the timing perfectly—bringing some dishes out right away and holding a couple back so we could enjoy everything at a comfortable pace. Such thoughtful service!
As for the food—it was outstanding. We started with the Carolina Board, a massive charcuterie board that felt like a meal on its own. The pimento cheese arancini were crispy, light, and so delicious. The Little Gem Caesar had the perfect balance of dressing with crunchy croutons and a refreshing bite. The comeback fries were hot and crispy, with a sauce that tied it all together beautifully.
Our absolute favorite dish was the Duck and Dumplings—the duck was perfectly cooked and paired wonderfully with the dumplings, easily one of the best dishes we’ve had in Charlotte. To go with everything, I had a Tito’s dirty martini with blue cheese olives, and it was made perfectly—smooth, cold, and with some of the best blue cheese olives I’ve had.
Dogwood far exceeded our expectations, and between the exceptional service, incredible food, and excellent drinks, we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

My family and I dined here on Christmas Day and it was a 10 out of 10. We loved the atmosphere with all the big windows and natural light, our server was great, and the food and cocktails were perfect. We all agreed this was the best meal we had had out on Christmas Day, ever. We tried the pimento cheese arancini, duck and dumplings, seared halibut, scallops and risotto, and brussel sprouts. We loved all of it. It was a great experience all around!

Stopped in for a date night and had a wonderful experience. Awesome staff and delicious food. Our waiter Collin had amazing recommendations. Savannah was also very attentive. Can’t wait to dine here again. The dessert that was not on the menu was a 10/10. Went back during lunch time and tried different dishes. Food was amazing for lunch too!

The pork belly was amazing! The short rib was delicious too. My friend got the duck and didn’t enjoy it, I tasted it and also didn’t enjoy it. My other friend got the roasted chicken and she enjoyed it. They also enjoyed the desserts!
The only complaint was service. We were not checked on by our server enough and had to ask the manager and other servers for other items.

Phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and order the pork belly appetizer. Caesar salad was massive — definitely split it with another person. The mashed potatoes were underwhelming, but I think it’s because everything else was exceptional.

We were quickly seated on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was stunning and elegant. We had a great view of the street art and people moving about town while we enjoyed our meal. The hostesses were warm and welcoming. The server was courteous, attentive and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. I was really impressed with the drink menu book that had beautiful photography. The cocktails were fantastic. I recommend the Moonbeam if you like something florally and Esse Quam Videri of you like smokey cocktails. The batter on the fried oysters had the perfect amount of crunch and the fresh dill made the flavors pop. I’m always skeptical about ordering duck because sometimes it’s too salty, but the duck & dumplings were not too salty at all. The duck was extremely tender with crispy skin and the dumplings had a ton of flavor. The pimento cheese arincini came with a sweet and tangy red sauce that was the perfect complement. The smashburger was delicious and pretty big with 2 patties topped with fried onions and cheese with fresh pickles on the side, plus a large size portion of fries. The New Orleans bbq shrimp was OK, but I do prefer a sauce that is spicier, which is just a personal preference.

My experience here was amazing! Let’s start with the ambiance, the full-circle bar, the light fixtures, and the table setting were all so beautiful and inviting. For my meal, I went with the mussels, and they were a total hit—10/10! This was the perfect light meal since I had just arrived and wanted a quick bite. I also had a cup of coffee, which gave me the perfect boost after a long day of travel. The service was equally wonderful, attentive, friendly, and made me feel right at home. Definitely a place I’d recommend and return to!

The smoked wings were good – though an interesting interpretation of Carolina style BBQ sauce. The Hushpuppies were a pleasant surprise – very soft and fluffy on the inside – and served with Tarter and Cocktail Sauces. Both sauces were good – though I think I would have preferred butter/honey with these.
For our main dishes, we had the Carolina Catfish and the Smashburger. The Smashburger was perfect! And I loved it with the caramelized onions. The burger is served with Cajun seasoned fries. The catfish was prepared with a light cornmeal based batter – it was delicious and not at all greasy as some fried catfish can be.
