Let’s start with the basics: The Tequeños. You legally cannot come here without ordering them. They aren’t those frozen, sad cheese sticks you get at other places. These are doughy, salty, cheesy perfection. But the real secret weapon is the Green Sauce (cilantro garlic sauce). I don’t know what they put in it, but I would drink it by the gallon if they let me. I literally dip everything in it—the tequeños, the arepas, my finger… it’s that good.
For the main event, I always go for the Santa Barbara Arepa. It’s massive. They stuff it with churrasco (steak), avocado, tomato, and cheese. The steak is actually high quality—tender and seasoned well—not that chewy mystery meat some places use. The arepa itself is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, which is the texture you’re looking for. It holds up against the fillings without falling apart immediately.
My friend ordered the Cachapa with Queso de Mano, and I ended up eating half of it. If you like that sweet-and-salty combo, this is it. The corn pancake is super sweet and fresh, and the cheese is thick and salty. It’s heavy, but worth every calorie.
We washed it all down with fresh Passion Fruit (Parchita) juice, which was the perfect acid kick to cut through all the cheese.
The service here is fast but friendly—it’s got that chaotic, loud, happy family energy that makes you feel welcome instantly. Whether you’re recovering from a night out or just want a serious cheat meal, Doggi’s MiMo is undefeated. 10/10 recommendation.
