Staff here needs some serious training. A member of my party was kicked out for gathering enough chairs for us to sit on. No explanation, no warning. We all left. There are plenty of other establishments in state college that we can happily support with our alumni dollars.

This is now the place to be in state college.

They have a good collection of beers. An interesting thing is their list of draught drinks are not all beers. For example, I had this drink called Hop tea. No idea what kind of alcohol it has but If you like sweet drinks and tea, it’s for you.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. What is with the “security” that is employed by this place? Minutes after my friends and I arrived, we were abruptly all kicked out because 1 of us went to get 1 extra chair for our table so that we could all have somewhere to sit, 1 stinkin’ chair!!!! Are you kidding me?! All of us were kicked out for that?! What is happening here and what did you do with the good ole Rathskeller?! Needless to say we will not be returning and will be be sure to tell all of our alumni friends and family!

Writing this as I am leaving the premises. Kicked out for dancing to the extremely loud music in the bar and being too “intoxicated” although only drinking water for past few hours. The young “security guard” who looked like he was in training refused to give an admissible excuse other than being too intoxicated along with his co-workers and supervisor backing him up. As well as after a fully coherent conversation with the supervisor they were adamant I was apparently too intoxicated. I wish an establishment of this status would employ more professional and competent security compared to the young gentleman tonight. Fortunately for my peers and I, we will not be returning to Doggie’s Pub after experiencing the joke of security they employ.

Love this place, can’t wait to go back and sit out when it is warm. Music is great and reasonably priced drinks. Awesome pizza and enen better garlic knots. I am not a beer drinker put the mango one was so good I had 3 glasses and the raspberry lemonade is to die for

I’m 40 years old and got kicked out for grabbing a chair that was 3ft away from a “roped” off area. Myself and 8 other alums left. We won’t bring our money back and we will absolutely make sure no one else will. I grew up here. Sad to see places like doggies rip the character and soul from my hometown. Save your money. I’ve spoken with people around town and after reading other comments, it’s blatantly obvious that ageism is alive and well at “doggies”

Went out of their way to kick out people because of being slightly busy. As someone whose never been kicked from a bar and someone who barely drinks 4 drinks over 5+ hours it was offensive on all sides. security was not offensive but their choices that night were pitiful.

First time in State College and while walking around, I saw a mural/sign with dogs and Yuengling Beer here. Just wanted to take a picture and was asked for my ID. It wasn’t even in the bar and neither was I. Really? My ID to take a picture. I read other reviews about “security” and the mention of the words “power trip,” I guess this was one of those times. I know one place I won’t visit if I make my way back to State College.

I usually frequent and love this pub, but I am very disappointed in Doggie’s staff and rules this past weekend. My GRADUATION was this past weekend, and my family rarely comes up to State College. Therefore, I was ecstatic to bring my family of 4 to Doggie’s so that they could experience my favorite pub/bar. I did my research ahead of time and saw that those under 21 ARE allowed in with the supervision of a parent. When my two parents, my 20-year old sibling and I showed up, the bouncer stated that they are not allowing those under 21 into the pub this weekend, even with a parent (or two). Normally I would understand, but this was a GRADUATION weekend where family should be allowed in regardless. I planned my entire Saturday around being at Doggie’s, and this put a large wrench in our plans for the day. I did not see a post on any form of social media that stated those under 21 would not be allowed in on a GRADUATION weekend, which is obviously a pretty large family weekend. Once again, extremely disappointed in Doggie’s pub this weekend and I hope they reevaluate these rules for the future.
