Livingston doesn’t have a huge variety of breakfast spots, so we pulled up to Dog Street Café hoping for a simple, solid meal. We ordered a classic egg, bacon, and toast plate with a side of hash browns, plus a ham breakfast sandwich. My sandwich was exactly what you’d expect—simple and done right, which is honestly hard to mess up.
Unfortunately, my husband’s meal was a different story. His eggs were ordered over easy but arrived over hard. He asked for bacon but was served sausage patties instead, and they looked (and tasted) more like hockey pucks. The hash browns were so burnt and crisp they were basically inedible. When the bacon finally did come out, it was cooked beyond crisp.
Overall, definitely disappointing—though to be fair, we didn’t walk in with high expectations. Still, it would’ve been nice to get the basics done right.

I had a great experience here!…I ordered the L U burger with Swiss cheese to go with a side of fries…. All the food was delicious and the portions were generous. The wait time was very reasonable! Atmosphere is nice… I would definitely recommend and I will be back!
